echoing for the sake of reinforcing the need...great plugin, but this integration would greatly simplify some of my current projects.

I'm in the same boat as Sherman. I'm currently using Wufoo simply because of their payment integration. Once this feature is added to Gravity Forms I'll switch over in a heartbeat.

Keep up the good work!

I too look forward to seeing Paypal addon, indeed.

Robert's tip is certainly good work around for now but we would need to check manually who paid for what with comparing emails from Gravity form and Paypal... Because Gravity form sends submission data regardless whether the submitter paid the fee or not...

Does anyone have suggestion so that we can make sure who paid for what?

Another vote for this. I came from JotForm. They had nice simple ecommerce integration. I don't think anyone expects a full ecommerce site to run this way, but it would be nice for event registration and such.

I'll just throw my two cents in about PayPal (and google checkout too please).

I use FormSpring and need to continue because I need the payment integration for most of my clients. I'll switch them all the moment this is available!

Carl, thanks for the update.

As a fellow entrepreneur, one thing to consider is how Paypal integration will increase the value of gravity forms to a business or non-profit audience using Wordpress (which number in the thousands). You could market it as an online registration solution and sell it like crazy.

I know I would use it for many of my existing clients, both businesses and non-profits. Online registration is a big industry. If an organization can buy your plugin and power their own system in-house they would pay! Plus they don't have to pay high monthly fees for other services.

Paypal integration gets another vote from this web designer!

The complexity of PayPal integration is why it has not happened yet. It isn't as simple as passing the information to PayPal. Very simple integration is already possible, although it is one way... you pass data to PayPal.

- We need to add new payment related fields to the plugin, with total calculation capabilities.

- We need a status on the entry (ex. Paid, Unpaid) and 2 way communication so that PayPal passes the user back to the site once payment has been confirmed and the status is updated.

- We need to take into account posts. Posts should only be created once PayPal has confirmed payment and passed the user back to the site.

It sounds simple, but once you start getting into it... things get to be more complex.

We are planning PayPal integration, but like our upcoming feeds add-on that adds support for MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, and Freshbooks, it will be part of an add-on plugin and not something that is part of the core Gravity Forms plugin.

We are taking the add-on approach because we do not want to continue to pile on more features into the core plugin. We are trying to avoid feature overload that will cause the core plugin to get bloated.

The feeds add-on is approaching release. Add-ons are free to Developer License holders, it's one of the perks. We have yet to determine how they will be made available to non-Developer License holders, if at all.

PayPal will be the next add-on that we work on. I don't have a timetable as to it's release. We want to do it right and not rush it out.
