FYI the developer for the FB Open Graph plug-in has reverted his code due to the issues it caused. Here's the statement in his change log:

"The changes we made to fix the dollar sign in title problem caused big problems in wp admin. rolling back for now while we plan and recode a lot of the plugin w/ norcross for a bigger update. Just don't use dollar signs for now in titles. sorry. standby."

Dear Suzanne -

I am not positive what bots are giving you problems, but this happens to many FORM fields by nasty spammer bots * spiders, etc. One of the best ways to combat this on many of our clients sites is to use your HTACCESS to block the nasty unconfirmed bots from exploring your forms and site in general. While we do also write specific Blacklists, one of my favorite I tell people to use it the 5G Blacklist. Below - I have added a sample TXT we suggest to our clients it also has a special WordPress related module in it.

I hope it helps, it should! :)

Never mind... this is due to the conflict with the Facebook Open Graph Protocol plugin which is being discussed in this thread: http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/unable-to-make-forms so I will monitor that thread for more info.

I just noticed that the update to 1.6.7 has completely disabled my registration/payment form on one of my sites. I can't edit the forms at all in the admin side because GF is throwing a number of javascript errors that prevent the admin page from loading completely.

The form obviously isn't working on the client side either. I disabled AJAX which helped, but the form is sending people to PayPal now when it's not supposed to and I can't get in to edit it because the admin side is throwing JS errors.

Two of the three errors are semantic issues, one says expected token "}" and the other says expected an identifier but found "SetInputName instead. The third error is in form_editor.js and is a reference issue: can't find variable: form

Can I get one of you pros to log into my admin area to see this yourself? Like I said this happened with the update to 1.6.7. I don't have any admin side plug-ins that would be causing this and it's not the theme because the same problem exists with the twentyeleven theme as well.

Hi I have just renewed my developer license and I'm having the same problem with both "Open Graph protocol" and "Gravity Form" plugins... for now I've just disabled "Open Graph protocol" to keep the forms working...

However I really need "Open Graph protocol" to work injunction with Gravity Forms, both are key to a number of my websites success. Any timeline for a fix?

We can move it to feature requests. I'm not sure of the reason, although maintaining a list of bots and spiders to exclude could be a full time job. The views in the form entry view are not a truly accurate metric. For tracking views and conversions you should use a dedicated service, like Google Analytics or equivalent.

Thanks for the info Chris. Good to know. Was there a reason for leaving a bot view in the data? Or is this maybe something to request for an update?
