Actually, if you disable JavaScript it's possible to push through with $0. Added validation to prevent that from happening. Hopefully that clears this up.

Do you have the entry that goes along with that submission? Are you sure that someone hasn't found a way to submit a $0 value form?

Had a couple of successful orders and then another that is missing all Authorize.net info, here's what I see in the logs;

Authorize.net Log

2013-07-11 14:22:02 - DEBUG --> Starting to make a product payment for form: 1

2013-07-11 14:22:02 - DEBUG --> Amount is 0. No need to process payment, but act as if transaction was successful

The form in question lives here; https://skydivesandiego.com/tandem-skydive/purchase-tandem-skydive/

There should be no way to push an entry through with $0.

Please begin troubleshooting by installing our logging add-on. It's available for download here:
http://www.gravityhelp.com/downloads/#Gravity_Forms_Logging_Tool

Upload and activate that like any WordPress plugin, then navigate to Forms > Settings > Logging, and activate logging for Gravity Forms and the add-on you're trying to troubleshoot. Then, test your forms, and return to this page. After log files have been created, there will be a link to them next to the drop down where you configured the log level.

Track it over a little while and see if any errors pop-up. Maybe there are connection issues between your server and Authorize.net?

Recently launched a new ordering system and we're experiencing intermittent problems with the Authorize.net integration. We are seeing ~15% of our entries in Gravity Forms with no associated entry at Authorize.net.

These records are display the following characteristics inside of each Gravity Forms record:

Payment Status: Approved

Transaction Id: N/A

Payment Amount: $0.00

Total: NULL

These records have NO associated data at Authorize.net. I went through and tested multiple fake card numbers, incorrect addresses, etc and wasn't able to reproduce this issue.

Any idea what may be causing this? What can I do to debug it further?

Thanks.

Hi David,

It sounds like there's a misunderstanding here on how PCI-compliance works -- it governs wherever the credit card data is handled, not where form fields reside because form fields are meaningless until a user inputs some data :-) So I think the original poster is trying to say that if the fields are "posted" to his server or hit his server in any way, then the SSL certificate is not enough to satisfy PCI-compliance.

And that's the issue he's having with Authorize.net -- the credit card information is posted to the website server where the form is being submitted, which means the website owner has to go through the PCI-compliance setup.

With Stripe, the credit card information never hits the server where the form is being submitted as it is posted directly to Stripe's Level 1 PCI-compliant servers. This allows you to take credit cards directly on your site, without the time and expense of having to setup PCI-compliance yourself.
