I am trying to make a directory from a profile update form:

I started a profile update form, i allowed multiple entries per user to keep a database of updates - now i would like to make a directory of the most current entries.

i have some users that insist on multiple users being registered under the same email.

can someone at gravity tell me if i switch the form from multiple entries to one will it erase multiple entries - keeping the latest one, do i have to erase all previous entries per user manually, will it stop allowing duplicate entries from that point forward and can it be based on username instead of email?

Also in doing this: I noticed-
I have noticed that if i make the first and last name of the profile update form admin only to prevent users from sharing accounts by changing names once registered, it will not show up in the directory views unless i select to show admin only fields in the directory settings, but then it shows all other admin fields i do not want seen even if i select to hide that field in both directory and entry views....unlike the rollover help in the form settings that states the field will be hidden even if admin only is selected in directory settings.

is this a bug

I think the settings of what to display on what page for a directory should not not be as much influenced by the form itself as it is by the directory plugin - because you cannot have two different versions of the same directory for different users if there is a dependency on the form settings which should remain static such as admin only

I am in the middle of registration for an event and do not want to make mistakes and am fearful of an update messing things up.

Is it possible to have the data submitted by a client auto-populate into a new listing on our directory site. So if someone fills out a form all the data is then populated onto the new listing including title, content, images, etc. and then published on the wordpress site.

Hi,

I created on multipage form where user can register their companies. I configured this form with the User registration plugin so user can logged in the site using the same id. Now I can edit the user information from the back-end but I am not able to understand how the user can modify his details again in the form.

Thanks!

http://forabetternow.org/wp/?page_id=9&leadid=9&form=2

As you can see here the State field is not showing up on the directory side of my site. When a user goes to submit a form (http://forabetternow.org/wp/?page_id=2) the state field does show though.

I have it telling it to not hide the field from directory and single entry page. Any one else have this issue? I tried searching but could not find it. Thanks!

Good Day,

We have built a number of forms using PCs and Laptops and all the testing worked fine. We then gave the system to our reps to start using it on their iPads but it seems that the "Edit" button does not display at the bottom of the screen when opening the forms through the "Directory View" - we tried different browsers and all have the same result?

Any help will be great...

I am running a wordpress site using gravity forms and the directory module. So we have a form working fine at mysite.com/someform using the form directories option. We have a page setup which is at mysite.com/somepage and that page is simply :

<span style="line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;">To View More Details, Click on the Person's Name.</span>

[directory form="5" sort="2.6" dir="ASC"]

This creates a rather bland list view. I am an experienced programmer but not familiar with wordpress. Basically I am trying to figure out where and how to create or configure a view of this data with some nice formatting. Is this something that can be done purely within wordpress, or must it be done by creating some file on the server containing PHP code? I would like the page to be modular so that we can include the nicely formatted list of data in other pages.

martcol on "Help With a Directory Site - Long Shot"

OK so this is a long shot because I know that you don't have to help me with this but, I'm asking anyway.

I want to build a directory site. I have tried plugins but they are too limiting so now I'm turning to GF. A bit of flattery to oil the wheels, I think that GF is a beauty.

I want users to register and have editorial control of their entries and I don't want them to be able to go anywhere near anything else.

It's like a business directory but this is focused on social care agencies and other groups. Oranisations that provide services for disabled/disadvantaged people.

I have tried the GF directory plugin but its a bit buggy and is making me go round and round.

I think the first step is to get people to register. After that, use a form to populate a post that sits outside of the blog. I then want them to be able to edit their listing with a form rather than the back-end.

This is what I think I need to do:

Create a custom post type for a Listing.
Create a form that populates the custom post type
Create a page with a loop that calls the custom post
Work some magic with the whole membership/registration thing
Stare at some code to will it into submission
Make it so that I can charge people a small fee to list (I need to pay for the hosting and my GF Dev Licence!)

Now, I know you are thinking that I don't know what I'm doing but hey, why else would I be asking?

All I want is for someone to suggest a work-flow so that I can work through this stuff and get it going.

Thanks

I created a form and it has saved fine, however I can no longer edit the form as the form settings page in my admin is empty when I click on that form. I have tried increasing my PHP and have also turned on the No-Conflict Mode in the settings. I'm not the best at coding so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a client site with a membership form, some members being listed in a public online business directory, using the GF Directory add-in. But some fields that are not hidden are not showing. The plugin author is not available. I've tried a number of things (including other solutions), but I'm now to the point of paying someone who knows more than I do. The client is pressing for this to be resolved.

Hello,

I'm testing the Edit User functionality in the User Registration add-on 1.5 beta. My registration form allows the user to upload their resume to include in a members list page. I've also created a new update user action in the User Registration that allows the member to update their profile page including uploading an updated resume. The issue i'm having is when the user updates their profile, it creates a new entry in the update profile page instead of updating the entry they currently have in the database. If I go to the entries in the admin it displays the updated profile as a new entry instead of updating the old entry. I'm not sure if this is how the plugin is supposed to work if so, how do I access the latest information for the member. I really hope all of this made sense.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
