I am adding the following code to the function.php file to achieve Google Analytics Event Triggers. I believe the code is right.

add_action("gform_after_submission", "gf_ga_tracking", 10, 2);
function gf_ga_tracking($entry, $form) {
?>
<script type="text/javascript">
jQuery(document).ready(function($) {
_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'Forms', 'Submission', '<?php echo $form["title"]; ?>']);
});
</script>
<?php }

but I am receiving a ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined @ http://domain.com/request-service/#gf_5:3

I know I have to have jQuery added to the page. But I figured it was taken care of by another plugin from the following code on my page:

<script type='text/javascript' src='http://domain.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-lightbox/js/jquery.min.js?ver=1.7.1'></script>

Does it need to be a specific version?
I disabled the plugin and I tried adding jquery by adding the following code into function.php:

add_action('init', 'add_jquery');
function add_jquery() {
	wp_enqueue_script('jquery');
}

now it has the following code in the page source:
<script type='text/javascript' src='http://domain.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.8.3'></script>

but still gives me the jquery not defined error.

Thanks
Greg

Hello,
I've checked a number of the other forum topics on this but haven't been able to find an answer for my question. I'm trying to add onclick event tracking for Google analytics and when I edited the function.php of my site it threw a parse syntax error.
Because my theme includes a specific html header/footer area, that is where the Google Analytics code lives, so I tried adding the event tracking code to the same area. That simply tracked everyone who saw the button, rather than just those who actually clicked the button.
I've spent a number of hours trying to figure out how to add this code to the button on a Gravity form, is there something I'm missing? Where can I edit the code related to the submit button? The form I'm referring to lives in the footer of every page: http://www.conroymediagroup.com/.
Thanks,
Cate

Hi, I'm curious of ways I can track links going to a form and submissions. I did see that you all have documentation to redirect a confirmation to a url. Using a link in google analtyics and then creating a funnel, I could definitely do it that way. Just curious if there are any other ways that don't require a redirect. If it involves more hacking in the code than that, I'd probably just stick with a simple redirect, but figured I'd ask.

thanks!

we are switching from our own forms to gravity forms, and are need of a addon that tracks google Analytics tracking cookies, below we have the code used for that section

// used to get the tracking cookie from google analytics and make it viewable
function tracking_cookie() {
	$GLOBALS['version'] .= " (Tracking Cookie V1.6)";
	$trackarr	= split('[|]',$_COOKIE["__utmz"]);
	$conversion = $_COOKIE["Conversion"];
	for($i=0;$i<count($trackarr);$i++){
 $keyvalues=split('[=]',$trackarr[$i]);
 $key=substr($keyvalues[0],-6);
 switch ($key){
 case "utmcsr":
 $cookie['SearchEngine'] =	$keyvalues[1];break;
 case "utmccn":
 $cookie['SearchCampaign']	=	$keyvalues[1];break;
 case "utmcmd":
 $cookie['SearchType'] =	$keyvalues[1];break;
 case "utmcct":
 $cookie['AdText'] =	$keyvalues[1];break;
 case "utmctr":
 $cookie['Keyword'] =	$keyvalues[1];break;
 case "mgclid":
 $cookie['isPPC'] =	$keyvalues[1];break;
 }
	}
	if ($cookie['isPPC'] !='') {$cookie['SearchType']='PPC';$cookie['SearchEngine']='google';}
	if ($conversion !='') {$cookie['SearchType']='Conversion';$cookie['SearchEngine']='google';}
	return $cookie;
}

thats the function we used, we would then exec it

$cookie = tracking_cookie(); // results from tracking cookie

and then input it into the admin, or site owner email to display

Search Engine: {$cookie['SearchEngine']}
Keyword: {$cookie['Keyword']}
Type: {$cookie['SearchType']}
Ad Text: {$cookie['AdText']}
Campaign Name: {$cookie['SearchCampaign']}

and it would display something like this

Search Engine: search.toolbars.alexa.com
Keyword:
Type: referral
Campaign Name: (referral)

can this be created as a addon? we need one ASAP

This might be useful for someone else. I wanted to be able to track form submissions on Ajax-enabled Gravity forms with an analytics event, and I also didn't want to create separate confirmation pages for each form, or edit the confirmation message individually.

Pastie for sticking in the active theme's functions.php:

http://pastie.org/6361095

The (ajax) confirmation message is in a frame which doesn't have access to jquery or the google analytics library, so the - perhaps a bit inelegant - solution is to call the scripts again from within that frame. Might also work just by pasting these into the confirmation message.

I have PayPal integrated on 3 forms on my site. The most used is: http://company-formations-ireland.com/irish-limited-company-order-form/ I've tested it several times and it always goes to PayPal for me, but we haven't had one client that has gone through the complete process. I've put it down to the user not waiting for it to load, etc. but last night we had a client that is pretty tech savvy who said it didn't go to PayPal -- it is possible he closed the browser first, but I just wanted to check to see if anyone else has this or any recommendations on what I should check for?

Also I want to set these as goals on Google Analytics, any advice on how best to do that?

Thanks, Ann

I would like to be able to track my leads back to their source. This is truly invaluable data to know and understand so as we make the most of our highest quality referral sources.

I am wondering, is there any way to track a lead back to its source with Gravity Forms? I use Google Analytics, but it anonymizes data and doesn't let me see where individual conversions came from.

I found this addon, which does something similar, but doesn't look to be supported anymore: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/infogeniuz-advanced-form-analytics-for-gravity-forms/

Ideally, I would like to be able to chart this data (even if I need to develop something that just uses the raw data).

Say a user clicks on a banner with link:

Is it possible, with a hidden field, to pull the 'utm-source' info from the URL? (In this case 'Banner2')
