Hello,

Is there is a way to add an additional character in front of the entry ID's that are logged for the gravity form entries. We have a form that uses these ID's as the customer reference number but would like to add an 'S' in front of the entry ID.

Thanks in advance

We want unique id numbers to be generated upon form submission. These need to be 10 digit including 3 digit prefix. I found http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/guid-entry-id and http://pastie.org/1398955 which works perfect apart from generating random numbers. We want numbers to be generated in incremental order rather than random numbers. I am not familiar with php, so can you please help.

Hello!

Please don't shoot me if this has been covered but I searched and searched and can not find this.

To generate a PO Number, I have been using the code that David Smith provided here which works great!: http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/guid-entry-id

Now I have a client that needs multiple forms. I saw David's notes on this but I also read in the forums that ENTRY ID's are unique across all forms.

So I was wondering!

Form 1 - for Blue Widgets orders
Hidden field - Allow field to be populated dynamically -
BW(Entry ID)

example: PO becomes: BW76

Form 2 - for Red Widgets orders
Hidden field - Allow field to be populated dynamically -
RW(Entry ID)

example: PO becomes: RW77

Can that be done (shortcodes or hooks) without adding PHP to the functions.php file?

If so, what parameter name do I enter into the hidden field?

Also, if I just wanted the ENTRY ID with no prefix (BW / RW) what is the parameter name?

Thanks so much!
Cheers,
Gil
P.S. A PO Number Field ... would REALLY be a great feature to add. Just sayin ;-)

What is the best way to prepopulate the first name and last name field during the gform_validation hook? It seems like the $field['defaultValue'] does not work for multi field elements?

Hi,

We are accepting forms for a event and we would like a field with form number which would automatically be filled in increments every time a form is submitted.

For e.g. the first time a form is filled the "Form No." should automatically be 1
and when the form is filled the second time the field "Form No." should be 2

Incase this is not possible.
Is it possible that we see the ID of the entry in the backend similar to form ids?
We would also like to include that ID in the notifications that are sent out to the admin & the customer.

Looking forward to purchasing your great extension.

Regards,
Arihant

I have searched the support forum for this but not found exactly what I am after. I'm pretty sure this must have been asked...

I would like to generate a unique number after say 3 characters on a form that would be recorded in the database and sent on a conformation email to the person who submitted it. Something like "RET123456". Obviously this would be different to each person filling the form in.

Thank you for your help in advance

Hi Guys,

We've got two forms on the site, and I'm hoping to split the entry id's, or, set up a new, form specific, serializing number.

So right now, if I submit to form A, then form B, then A again, the two entries for A are 1 and 3. Ideally, I'd love to set up a number system that goes A-1, A-2 etc.

I kind of got a sense of how it might work in http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/modifying-the-entry-id -- but I'm not quite sure how to put it all together, nor am I quite sure where it goes (though, functions.php would be the default guess).

Any help very much appreciated.

Hello,

Is the following possible?
I need an application form which requires acceptance by an administrator. Following acceptance, an email would be sent out providing the url of the second part of the form.

All of the info from both forms would be available to view as one entry.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I am planning on running a Mother's Day contest next month where a user comes to my site and nominates a local mom to win the grand prize. and then using a 2nd form, users will vote on moms based upon the nominations... Setting up the form is easy enough, creating the post from the form is easy enough but I wanted to know if there is a way to add some kind of Unique Auto Incrementing ID number into each post. In theory, the voting form would say "Please enter the name of the mom you are voting for" but to avoid any duplicates or user errors, I'd rather just say "Please enter the unique # of the mom you are voting for".

So instead of Jane Smith, they would have to enter #20120328 into the 2nd voting form.

Is there a way to automatically create and display these unique IDs on the post page (after they've submitted the first form)?
