You can test no duplicates on any single field in a form. There is a check box on each field that says No Duplicates.

I know this is an old thread. Can Gravity Forms now do what the OP was asking?

I'm looking for something similar.

1) require that users be logged in (can do this)
2) auto enter their username or email address (can do this)
3) no duplicates (not sure if this can be done)

I've been requested to set up a membership sign-up such that a member is automatically assigned a membership number which is also their login username

As in, each member username needs to be H followed by 5 numbers. Is this possible, or is it forced that a user create their own username?

Thanks, Josh

The site I'm designing uses a membership plugin so I do enforce protected content. You make a good point however.

If I wasn't normally logged into a site, I wouldn't log in so I could just answer a poll. I'm sure many others would feel the same, and you wouldn't get many responses. My question to you would be, "are your visitors normally logging in?"

Given the choice, would you prefer site users log in before they can respond to a poll or, leave it wide open to the public? What are the pros/cons?

Thanks!

@martcol,

In the form settings, select the following option: "Require user to be logged in"

Also, you may want to check out Justin Tadlock's tutorial: How I run a membership site

I have a registration form and an add a listing form that submits a custom post type listing.

I can't work out how to make the add a listing form available to only those who register? So if a user navigates to the listing form I need to say "Please Register to submit your listing" or "Please log in..." I guess it might be Please log in or register..."

Thank you

David Peralty on "User Registration Pre-purchase - Do I need this to run Persistence?"

If you mean this add-on http://wordpress.org/plugins/gravity-forms-data-persistence-add-on/ then yes, you need Gravity Forms (but not the User Registration add-on) before that would work.

If you have a valid license of Gravity Forms, then the pre-purchase forum is not where you would post questions. Please register with the e-mail address used to purchase your license and post in our Support Forums.

Also, this is a third party add-on you are mentioning and you'll have to go to them for support on anything specific to their add-on. All my best!
