Hi There,

I just purchased the basic Gravity Forms option a few days ago. I'm trying to build a sign-up form for my live bands/live music website (affordaband.co.uk), where instead of new bands emailing me from my website, instead they can click on a sign-up link on my site, and input all their live band details there - band name, biography, photos, mp3's, video clips etc.. I need them to input the data, then click "SUBMIT", where I get an alert that says PUBLISH, and then I can approve, or make changes, I click PUBLISH, and it becomes a nice formatted page (or post) added to a certain area on my Wordpress site. But my webguy can't figure it out, and I've got no chance. Please help!!!

Thanks Heaps,

I need to create a form with an action that redirects the user to a 3rd party site with the POST method.

Gravity looks like it'll do pretty much anything. But I'm querying this because in the support documentation it describes the confirmation redirect setting as sending a querystring:

'The redirect is an advanced form confirmation that allows you to redirect the user to any URL after the form has been submitted. This option also gives you the ability to pass form field data to the redirect page via query string parameters. Using the built in query string builder you can pass form field data to the page you are redirecting to.'
from the bottom of this page: http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Form_Settings

Can it use POST instead?

Hi Guys!

I'm new here and i have a question. Is it posible to calculate with a value, e.g. from Post, in the Form.
For better understanding: I have a value in Post e.g. 650$. Under this i want a form with options, +30$ for option 1, and so on.

another thing is: Can i work with percent in forms?

Thanks for your help.

Update: I have tried overwriting post_content like so

$post_data["post_content"] = '';

and yet the form still returns the post content. I can only think that either gravity forms doesn't use $post_data["post_content"] for it's post boy field, which seems unlikely, or the $post_data["post_content"] is not given a value until after this hook has fired. I am using "Create content template" with my post body field, could this effect it?

I am using the following code (full source in the following pastebin) to check if a form submission has certain checkboxes ticked, and if so go through a few conditionals to add some extra custom taxonomy terms and in 1 instance create a copy of the submitted post.

This is basically working fine, The issue is that the copied post doesn't have all the information. There is no post content and the custom terms are missing. I am wondering if their is anything I am missing here specific to gravity forms.

Here is how I am creating the copy of the post

$postCopy = array(
			  'comment_status' => $post_data['comment_status'], // 'closed' means no comments.
			  'post_author' => $post_data['post_author'], //The user ID number of the author.
			  'post_content'   => $post_data['post_content'], //The full text of the post.
			  'post_date_gmt' => $post_data['post_date_gmt'], //The time post was made, in GMT.
			  'post_name' => $post_data['post_name'], // The name (slug) for your post
			  'post_status' => $post_data['post_status'], //Set the status of the new post.
			  'post_title'     => $post_data['post_title'], //The title of your post.
			  'post_type' => 'apprentice', //You may want to insert a regular post, page, link, a menu item or some custom post type
			  'tax_input'      => $post_data['tax_input']
			);

			$postCopy["tax_input"]['college'][] = 'sussex-downs';

			wp_insert_post( $postCopy, $wp_error );

It seems I have an issue with both 'post_content'   => $post_data['post_content'] and 'tax_input'      => $post_data['tax_input']

Full Source : http://pastebin.com/gsw7yAmm

Ignore this post, didn"t check docs properly

Hi

We have a form that creates a new post with each submission. I would like to tag each post with a custom taxonomy term or terms based on which checkboxes within the form are checked.

So say we have:

checkbox 1
checkbox 2
checkbox 3
checkbox 4

and

checkbox 5
checkbox 6
checkbox 7
checkbox 8

If any of checkboxes 1 - 4 are checked I would like to add termA to the post. If any of the checkboxes 5-8 are checked I would like to add termB. If say checkbox 3 and checkbox 7 are checked I would like to add both termA and TermB to the post.

This doesn't seem like it should be to hard provided their is an existing filter to get hold of the form and its data and modify it before it creates the post + a reasonable tutorial on working with form data. Hopefully we can just get the values of the checkbox fields in a php script and use <?php wp_set_post_terms() ?> with a few if statements to apply the terms through the filter.

Cheers

Hi there,

I am trying to set up a form with a custom post type and taxononmy population using the Custom Post Type add-on. I set the custom post type in the post name field then add a number of dropdowns populated by taxonomy - However, I am having major problems getting the form to save!

One of three things happens:
1. GF pops up with a message saying that there was an error saving the form
2. The taxonomy population fields disappear or don't appear in the form
3. Clicking 'update form' button goes to 'server not responding' screen.

Does anyone know why this might be happening? Could it be a GF bug or the add-on. Perhaps (and I wouldn't be surprised) am I missing something or doing something wrong?!

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I've tried to troubleshoot for several hours and have gone round in circles so I'd be grateful for you to put your brainpower to use as well!

Many thanks

I have a simple shopping cart that once purchase is made I need to pass form data to a query string to generate a license (which I can successfully do) but I also need to post the string out put inside the notification email and redirect the user to a thank you page.

I would like to be able to use a conditional shortcode in a page post, but apparently it does not work in posts? only notifications and confirmation messages? Im not sure what "content of Admin" is exactly.

For example I have a hidden field "who" that is populated by a GET variable "who". if "who" equals "test" then I want to show a block of text in the page post, so I tried this in the page content:

[gravityforms action="conditional" merge_tag="{Hidden Field:11}" condition="is" value="test"]Content you would like to conditionally display.[/gravityforms]

But it does not show, yet I do see that the hidden field is indeed populated correctly by the $_GET variable. Does the above conditional shortcode not work in page posts? If not, can you move this over to feature requests?
