A maximum word count feature would be great.

I know there is maximum character count available, but word count as an option there would be very helpful.

This has been raised in pre-purchase question and this resource mentioned: http://roshanbh.com.np/2008/10/jquery-plugin-word-counter-textarea.html but having looked there I have no ideas about how to implement the code and don't have the resource to justify hiring a developer who does.

Add my vote for the integration of a word count feature :)

I have a form and enabled "No duplicates" on the email address field. However, this now blocks some email addresses that are unique and after searching the entries those addresses are NOT found in the form entries, so they should not be blocked.

Using Gravity Forms 1.7.6 and Wordpress 3.5.2.

The form in question has about 5430 entries containing unique email addresses.

Do you know what can cause this problem?

Hi

I'm putting a form together for a client and he's complained that the error message (which appears, as it should, if someone submits the form incorrectly) is buried at the base of the page. I must say i agree with him.

Is it possible to have a pop-up error message (ideal) or, if not, at least position the error message at the top of the page in bigger text. If these alternatives are possible, how are they done?

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me?
I've got a call to action gravity form setup on my website where customers can enter their UK postcode and click submit. The user is then re-directed to another gravity form where they can complete their request. I've setup dynamic population so the input entered into form 1 gets populated in the second form.

For Form 1 - when a user enters data & clicks submit (Before user is directed to form 2)
Upon submit I would like to action an external php script which would validate the user entry.

I've tried various filters and actions But I just can't figure out how to action the PHP script.

Link to form1 http://my-insulation.info/ is the main page

When I input data and click submit I get the following error -There was a problem with your submission. Errors have been highlighted below.

I'm not a web developer & can't afford to hire one, If someone can offer any assistance I would greatly appreciate it -

This is what I've done or got -

//Code is placed in the themes function.php file
My PHP code can be seen here - http://pastebin.com/S9S7dH09

I've setup the website field in my form, however it's not validating unless the user specifically types the http:// at the start of the address. So something like "www.test.com" throws up the "Please enter a valid Website URL (i.e. http://www.gravityforms.com)." error.

That makes things difficult, as even with the http:// placeholder in the field, I don't think many users will actually type it.

Is this normal behaviour, or is there a way to allow it?

Form is here: http://ridemusic.net/fans/#form-story-tab

Thanks.

I read an interesting article over at CSS Tricks about making the form fields more suitable for smartphone / tablet input.

To do so, I changed the input type of my email and phone fields as well as a single text field I am using for time with the gform_field_input filter (http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Gform_field_input).

This works perfect right up until the moment of submitting, then exactly for those fields I have changed the input type for don't validate anymore.

Is there anything I'm missing here?

The code I used is:

/**
* Add functionality to change input type Gravity Forms to optimize for tablets and smartphones
* see article: http://css-tricks.com/a-couple-of-best-practices-for-tablet-friendly-design/
* see GF help: http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/Gform_field_input
*/

add_filter( 'gform_field_input', 'cf_gf_input_types', 10, 5 );
function cf_gf_input_types( $input, $field, $value, $lead_id, $form_id )
{
	//because this will fire for every form/field, only do it when it is the specific form and field
	// 4 forms all email fields
	if ( $form_id == 1 && $field['id'] == 3 || $form_id == 3 && $field['id'] == 2 || $form_id == 4 && $field['id'] == 3 || $form_id == 5 && $field['id'] == 2 )
	{
 $input = '<input type="email">';
	}

	// 4 forms all phone fields; 2 forms time field
	if (

I'm looking to highlight the Sub-Label color when someone is focused on a field.

Also, when validation errors occur, I'm looking to change the font color for both the Label and Sub-Label as well as the class for the input field. Basically want to make these elements red.

Can anyone help me with the CSS strings or php to accomplish this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey,

I was wondering if there was a way to track form validation errors in Google Analytics? I want to know which fields are being entered incorrectly and pushed into analytics specifically. At the moment I'm using Yoast's Google Analytics plugin.

Hi, I have some required fields at https://www.newlifeconference.co.uk/booking/
If these are not used the error message displayed also changes the background colour and text of the form.
This clashes with my site styling which has a solid background colour and white text and so makes the text unreadable.
Is there a way to change this styling as it is also causing issues when the confirmation form is displayed which again changes the text colour and the background colour.
