Unfortunately, you are trying to use a field for what it isn't intended for and isn't supported to be used as, and as such, I don't know if there is any way with the set-up you have laid out to do what you want.

Hi David
the reason for this is that the "product" dropdown requests to be linked to a "product" field, but that is not applicable here. I need the user to select an option from the dropdown, which will then be multiplied by a number field - and the result needs to then be displayed in another field.

Can I ask why you aren't using Products instead of a dropdown? If you were using a Product Dropdown field, you could have the prices for the various items be the same and work as expected in your calculations.

Hi there.

In order to allow "duplicate" values in a dropdown menu, I would like to edit the dropdown menu as follows:

Apples and Oranges | 50-1
Oranges and Lemons | 50-2
Pineapples | 50-3
tomatoes | 80-1

I need to remove the "-1", or "-2" from the dropdown menu's value for use in calculations.

How can I remove the this when I calculate my form fields?

Thank you

Thank you David - I thought that may be the problem. Do you perhaps have any suggestions on another way which the user can select a menu? Would this same issue apply to radio buttons?

Please can you point me in the direction of a better solution for this?

Thank you so much

Kind Regards

How does this work for Product drop downs? I have:

1'|1|$21.95
2'|2|$43.90

This goes up to 21' feet.

I have two other drop downs that need to calculate based on their first selection.

Support Brackets
Joining Couplers

I thought I could use a Product calculation and just multiply. When I use {merg tag name:1} it shows the price. When I use {merge tag name:1:value} it still shows the price and not the value number. So I can't take the length value and divide by 2 and then times it by $8.50.

What I would like to do is pre-populate the second and third drop downs with the corresponding length.

Support bracket pricing is based on 1 bracket for every 2 feet in length.
1'|1|$8.50
2'|2|$8.50
3|3|$16.50
4|4|$16.50
etc.

Couplers are based on 1 coupler for every 7 feet in length.

1'|1|$16.50
2'|2|$16.50
...
8|8|$33.00
9|9|$33.00
etc.

So if they select 8' feet in drop down 1 I want 8' to be selected automatically in the second two product drop downs.

How do I accomplish this? I have spend many hours trying to find informative docs on how to use merge tags and pre-populate fields. It seems everything is based on pre-popping from page meta info or passing values from one page to another, etc.

You can't have the same value for the various options. It makes it so things don't work because the script is only looking at values and they are all the same.

Hi

i have the following dropdown menu in my form. This dropdown is duplicated (name is changed for each) through my form for each day which a conference is attended.

Menu 16 - R120 - Traditional Fish & Chips, two salads, Crispy bread rolls, Ice Cream & Chocolate Sauce|120

_______________________________

If I select "Menu 2" - then the form displays "Menu 1", with a value of "80". The "dropdown label" only changes when I select an option with a different value, such as "Menu 16, value: "120"

If I am not explaining correctly, the form can be viewed here:
