I've got a big and messy-enough web of sites to oversee that I've been waiting for the 3.0 glitches to get worked out before migrating to multi-site. It looks like it's working smoothly enough for most people now, so I've scheduled the shift for next month.

In the meantime, I'll reinstall the older version of GF (I think I have an old copy on my machine) and go with that. I don't currently need the widgets anyway.

Thanks.

It could be a WPMU 2.9.2 specific issue. We don't officially support MU (although we do support Multi-Site in WordPress 3.0) so it wasn't tested in WPMU 2.9.2 before release. The error is related to the widget functionality that was added in the latest release but I don't really see why that would cause a problem.

We can look into this and see if it is an MU specific issue. You may need to install the previous version so you have it working in the mean time, do you need us to send you the older version?

Also is there any reason why you haven't migrated to WordPress 3.0 Multi-Site? We always recommend running the latest version of WordPress for security and compatibility reasons.

Thanks Carl--

I'm sorry to report that that's exactly what I'd done (deleted old, FTPed new one in, activated it).

Any other ideas for what to try? Should I curse loudly at my computer?

How are you trying to install the plugin? Manually via FTP or using automatic upgrade?

I would suggest installing via FTP. Download the latest version from this site, FTP into your site and delete the gravityforms folder and then upload the new version and activate.

When I try to install the latest version of GF, I get the following error:

Warning: require_once(/home/xxx/public_html/xxx.org/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/widget.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/xxx/public_html/xxx.org/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/gravityforms.php on line 54

(the xxxs are mine, but look right)

What's odd is that the older version of GF installed fine. Is this a permissions-error?

I'm running WPMU 2.9.2. Any thoughts?
