@Carl. Yes, I was logged in as Super Admin. Have a look at the screenshots I posted earlier by the way. I believe the original poster also had the same issue, judging by his description.

@teggen Were you logged in as a Super Admin on the subsite? If not, the ability to update add-ons is only available if the user has the Super Admin role.

Found a fix: My add-ons were only used on a subsite of a multisite-installation. I activated the add-ons on the main site/mothership and I was then able to do the auto-update.

It must have something to do with using the add-ons on multisite-installations.

@ Carl. Thanks for your quick answer. And OK - I must have misunderstood the terms, sorry about that.

In any case, when my I remove my license key, it shows that updates are available.
Check screenshot here: http://i.imgur.com/Ac49n.png

When I re-enter the key, these notifications disappear.
Check screenshot here: http://i.imgur.com/4dqNZ.png

Something is happening with the communication when I register the copy - can you see what I am saying?

@teggen The information is cached. Gravity Forms and it's Add-On plugins cache update checks so that it isn't constantly hitting our server to check for updates which would happen if we didn't cache. It caches this information for performance reasons. So I know for a fact that it caches this information. So you can either wait for the cache to update, which varies depending on when the last update check occurred, or you can manually download the latest version of the Add-On's from the Add-On Downloads page and manually update/install them.

I doubt it is the cache, as I have newer seen these update notifications before, and I check my backend pretty often. Could it be that it has something to do with the fact that I am running multisite? When I go into the backend of the site it lists on the top that there are 4 updates available. Clicking this takes me to the network update, but now only two updates are available - missing the PayPal and MailChimp add-ons.

See the screenshots here:

So far i've been unable to replicate this. Running PayPal Add-On v1.0 and MailChimp v1.3.1 on WordPress 3.2 I see the update notifications as expected. See this screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/lJvQ1.png

The most likely issue is cache. This information is cached. So while you updated your license key in our system by renewing it, until your WordPress site checks for updates and clears it's update cache it's not going to be reflected because this information is being cached.

Hi Carl,

Thanks for your quick answer. I have Wordpress 3.2, PayPal 1.0 and MailChimp 1.3.1

@teggen The Add-Ons do support auto updating. What version of the Add-Ons were you running and what version of WordPress were you running so we can investigate?

I have the same issue. My license expired today and I got an update message for the Mailchimp and PayPal add-ons saying that I need to repurchase the lisence to qualify for auto updates. I did repurchase and alas, the notifications disappeared saying everything was up to date. Checking this forum here though, my add-ons do need updating, so my questions would also be: Is Gravity Forms planning to implement auto-updates for the add-ons? Or at least notifications saying they need updating?
