I'm working on a form right now to capture name, e-mail, city/state and country. Should be simple, right? But I can't omit any of the address fields so it looks like I'll have to do individual fields for each bit of data I want to capture. Given that the logic is there, I would suggest offering the address fields, city, state, zip and country separately as additional options.

Thanks for the suggestions. We're always happy to consider adding new functionality. Our main concern is keeping the admin easy to use for everyone so some features may not be added to the form admin.

If functionality can be added in a way that's intuitive and easy to use and has enough broad appeal, it might show up in the admin. If not, it might be added and then implemented via a hook somewhere.

Custom CSS is always an option, but a prebuilt quick and simple solution for drop in columns could allow give general users a much nicer user experience - and less headaches.

I just posted something a few minutes ago along those lines. The ability to drop fields in various columns is in fact very useful.

I understand, browsing through the forum, that it is possible to play with layout using css.

I would like the ability to have prebuilt small columns that i could enter values for such as

Block A | Block B

Block A | Block B | Block C

Block A | Block B | Block C | Block D

This way instead of having stacked blocks i could easily put small fields in nice orderly fashion.

A lot has been said about this in this forum. I thought I'd open a new thread to combine all feature requests concerning customizing advanced fields. I'd personally like to customize the Address field and the Name field as follows:

Name field:

Firstname (e.g. Rafael) | Preposition (e.g. van der) | Last name (e.g. Vaart)

Address field:

Street | House number | House number suffix

Postal code | City

Adding custom formats for advanced fields using hooks would be a very cool feature.

Another wish I have is to have more intelligent validation for advanced fields. For example I want Street to be required, but State to be optional. This is impossible right now.
