Gotcha. A Google Maps geolocation field is something we would like to add in the future. So hopefully it's something we can add in one of the future releases, although the upcoming 1.6 release is already feature frozen so it won't be in that release. 3rd party developers could always step in and create an Add-On that introduces this field. Hooks exist so that developers can create their own custom advanced fields.

we could only do it if we integrated with a reliable 3rd party service to provide the geolocation data.

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/geolocation/
This plugin creating a meta-box in edit panel for geolocation. I am thinking nearly same thing in forms. Its loading a location from an adress you writing and then you can move it if its not exact location. Finally you will have exact location of your place.

You can think "why would you need a map for it? google maps clearly locating exact place from adress". Maybe its true for America but surely not true for every place in world. Google maps locating "city + street adress" good in my country but still need to change map point for exact location.

Basically i want to use this map info in buddypress profiles or in custom post metas. I am not saying this is mandatory feature but will be awesome to see this in best data-entering plugin of wordpress.

I'm not sure what the Geodata standard in the WordPress codex has to do with this implementation, the WordPress Geodata standard is just a suggestion for how to store geolocation information with a WordPress posts. It isn't necessarily applicable to Gravity Forms itself because form data isn't stored in the WordPress post tables.

We'd like to enhance the Address field in the future and geolocation enhancements are interesting, but we could only do it if we integrated with a reliable 3rd party service to provide the geolocation data.

What exactly are you looking for as far as geolocation information? Are you wanting a field that asks the user to select a location on a map and then it stored the geolocation data for the place they selected? It's not clear from the post above what exactly you would like to see added to Gravity Forms.

Any idea about this?
Is it hard to support? Or a bad idea?

Is it possible to add a google maps option to Advanced Fields?
Maybe it can use Advanced Fields-> Adress info for locating. I know there is tons of plugin about geolocation and impossible to support all of them but there is a standart in wordpress codex: http://codex.wordpress.org/Geodata
