Yeah, you shouldn't need to modify any of the core Thesis files to apply styling. You shouldn't need to modify any theme files other than the css normally, but Thesis is an especially complex theme that works entirely differently than most.

I would suggest contacting the Thesis support team before you go in and start trying to mod any core files. They'll be able to guide you with the correct process to add the new styles.

I am trying to apply appropriate styling to a Gravity Form, and since we're using Thesis, I'd like to use similar styling.

I am a complete newbie and probably have no business trying to get this to work....but I'm doing so anyway. After reading this post:

http://www.gravityhelp.com/thesis-theme-specific-styles-removed-from-gravity-forms-1-5-css/

...I've appended the code (from that post) to the custom.css file for Thesis. The next post:

http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/using-wp-themes-css-style

...leads me to think I need to modify the header.php and footer.php files for Thesis as well. This is where I am stuck. I'm happy to provide an admin login for cPanel if that's helpful. The form I'm working with is here:

http://208.43.133.135/~nexueps1/contact-us/

Thank you!
