Comment functionality is something we want to bring to Gravity Forms, however it is something we are going to have to think through. It's a little more complex than post functionality as you need to have an easy way to replace the comment form as well as display any additional data from your comment form in the comments. So it is a little bit more complex and may require manual work by the person implementing it on their site. So it's something we are considering but is going to take a lot of time and effort to implement it correctly.

We are interested is similar functionality too. Specifically we are looking for a way to replace the normal comments form and add a star-rating type option. We would want to be able to require that both the star-rating and comment (as a review), are filled out, and that the average star rating is shown under the title of the post.

Something just like what Amazon has basically. Amazingly there seem to be no Wordpress plugins that do this. The closest is GD Star Rating but it's a huge overkill for what we need, has a steep learning curve and the theme files still need to be hacked in order to do it. It would be great if we could do this with Gravity Forms.

Currently Gravity Forms does not create comments. It could do so but it would require a customization via it's API hooks. It is a good idea, there has just been other more highly requested features that we have been adding to the plugin that keeps pushing it back on our priority list. But we will get it added down the road for sure.

I have been using cformsII successfully for several years on my site, but it has no support and upgrading to WP3.0 has broken it, so I am looking to switch.

I am sure Gravity Forms will do the straight contact forms I need, but can not tell whether it will work with the comments forms like cforms II did.

In cforms, you could replace the form used to post comments, and add fields to the comment form. When the user hit submit, the fields that are standard on the comment form make a new comment awaiting moderation, but the entire form (including both the default comment fields and the custom ones you added) is sent as an email.

This is important, because it allows commenters to provider additional contact information which is then sent to us in an email.

Can GF do this?
