Calculations should work in the form preview. Screenshot: http://minus.com/m4KAYtkta/ If they do not on your server, it's likely a theme conflict, something interfering with the jQuery required to perform the calculation.

As for showing it as a percentage, can you post a link to your form so we can see what needs to happen and where? Thank you

Hi Chris

I was doing everything you indicated, but was not seeing the output.

I tried the import file and had the same problem.

Then I decided to add the shortcode to a post and publish it - I had been using the preview mode - and it worked.

I did the same with the form I had created and it also worked.

So I'm not sure if the calculation doesn't display in preview mode of if it's theme-related, but I am all sorted on that front now.

Thank you very much for your help with this.

Now, all that being said, is there any way for the output to display as a percentage?

Cheers,

Dawson

To use the calculation, you need to have a number field (or a product field) in the form, and you need to check the box which says "Enable Calculation". At that point, you can use any of your previous number fields in the form, as a merge tag, and then perform calculations on that field. Does that make sense?

See this example with two simple calculations:
http://gravity.chrishajer.com/post-70046/

You can download a copy of this form and Import it into your WordPress site: http://minus.com/mbq0WGDddm/ (use the Download (2.9 KB) link beneath to displayed XML)

To import this form, use the Forms menu, then Import/Export, and then the 3rd menu item on the top is called "Import Forms". Upload the form to your site then take a look at the fields to see how it was done. If you have any questions please let us know. Thank you.

I've searched the documents, the forum, and even Google, but I am stumped, so I thought I would ask for help.

I'm testing a very simple calculator (two fields for inputting a number, then one field with calculation enabled and the appropriate merge tags inserted with a simple formula (addition).

On this page http://www.gravityhelp.com/gravity-forms-v1-6-4-beta-1-released/ it says the following:

"The calculation formula builder allows you to customize the formula that is used to perform the calculation using available form merge tags. The calculation will then be performed automatically as users fill out your form and will again be executed when the form is submitted to ensure accuracy."

This leads me to think that a "total" field of some kind will automatically appear on the form when I preview or insert it.

But that's not happening.

I've seen examples of others who have this working but I cannot, for the life of me, work out how to do it.

I have no doubt that it's dead simple but, after a few hours of searching and trying, I am lost.

The only thing that I can get to show up on the preview page is the Submit button (which, when clicked, just takes me to a thank you page).

What am I missing/doing wrong that I can't get some form of a total to show up on the page?

Many thanks
