Last time it was a feature, even with alert disclaimers that you would lose your data, it still posed issues with users who don't read what they should be reading and just click buttons. It used to be a feature, but it was removed.</p> <p>We can look at adding the ability to change field types in situations where the fields are similar in how they function and store the data. </p> <p>The reason why the ability to change the Field Type was removed is because a lot of the fields are very different in how they function and store data so they weren't compatible with each other once data existed for a field. </p> https://legacy.forums.gravityhelp.com/topic/changing-field-types-instead-of-starting-over#post-30764 Fri, 22 Jul 2011 15:02:17 +0000 davidrothwell 30764@https://legacy.forums.gravityhelp.com/ <p>Firstly - thanks for a wonderful product!</p> <p>I find I'm sometimes building forms using particular fields then needing to alter them afterwards which causes me to delete a field and re-enter it with the same text but using a different type e.g single-line text instead of paragraph.</p> <p>It would be great to be able to dynamically change the field type on the page as I'm designing it if I find I've made a mistake or changed my mind part way through.</p> <p>Common changes might be:<br /> single line &lt;&lt; &gt;&gt; paragraph<br /> check box &lt;&lt; &gt;&gt; multiple choice</p> <p>etc...</p> <p>Can you help?
