Authorize.net requires the information in one format, where as the Chase Paymentech / Orbital Gateway requires it be sent in a different format. The collection of the information is abstracted to where users checking out won't know the difference between their credit card being processed by the Authorize.net gateway, or by Chase Paymentech etc.. But can someone explain why we need a plugin at all? Why can't we simply take whatever total number created and bring it to a checkout page using whatever it is you may want to use? And if its just an issue of finding a way to string the data along, then why do we need plugins for each and every CC processing? The only payment gateway add-on we have is PayPal, with an authorize.net add on coming soon, and PayPal Pro after that.</p> <p>You can study the PayPal add-on and see how it works to be able to replicate that functionality for other payment gateways.
