It is being considered for a future release.

The data can be passed from form to form. Each successive form will have to have all the previous fields in it. It's the equivalent of having page 1 on form 1, page 1&2 on form 2, page 1&2&3 on form 3, and all 4 pages on form 4. That way, form 4 will have all the information, form 3 will have 3/4, form 2 might have half, and form 1 will at least capture the email.

@Chris,

Thanks for responding to this.

Is this ability something that the team is considering?

Also, how is it that GF can pass info from a previous form to another? Will each form need to contain the same fields as the previous?

There is no way to do this currently. You could create separate forms for each step, and when the form is submitted, the data from that form will be captured. You can then pass the captured data along to the next form, and so on, until form 4 has all the information. You will capture any data submitted on the early forms, and if the visitor completes all 4 forms, you will have a complete entry for form 4 and can ignore the entries from the first 3 forms. However, if you see completions drop off after form 1, 2, or 3, you can follow up with the information you captured from those forms.

It can be done, but Gravity Forms does not capture data until the final "submit".

Back to this ... let me clarify.

For a multi-page form, is there a way to save the input data as the form progresses? In other words, if the form is 4 pages, each time the user progresses from one page to the next (page 1 to page 2) the information entered in page 1 is saved ...

This would be an amazing way to break up a lot of information, but still capture enough to follow up the lead.

Thanks.

Hey guys,

So I'm trying to determine if GravityForms is the right solution to a certain requirement...

My client wants to be able to capture as much information as possible when a form is submit. The reason for this is that so many people bail when there's even the slightest barrier. This includes form errors and such. 40% of their business comes from following up with prospects that bail because their credit card was declined or their 'email address in already in use', etc.

Think tank?
