Hi David, there's a little bug in 1.7.6. When you use the merge fields, they are put on the left hand side, not on the right. This causes formula to be written in reverse!

So a formula that is supposed to be:

field 1 + field 2

writes as:

field 2 + field 1

This is obviously fine for basic maths, but not for more advanced stuff in ( ) etc.

I'm going to start a separate thread, but on calculations, does anyone know how to form integral coefficients in GF?

Ah, yes! Sorted! This was probably the 'expected' behaviour, but there was nothing initially in the merge field drop down. The form has to be saved for this feature to work :-) Might be worth mentioning if you create documentation for it.

Thanks for your help.

You just take the merge tags and put them into the calculation using the down arrow button beside the field. Adding in each of the merge tags and clicking on the math symbol you need to use to get the result you want. There isn't any special documentation for this feature currently. As I said, I am going to be revamping all of our documentation over the next few months to update them, provide more examples and extend it to be more useful to more people if I can. I'll make a note to do a write-up on the calculations.

Hi David,
There's a post: http://www.gravityhelp.com/gravity-forms-v1-6-4-released/?_login=a0310f4942

Which shows you have added calculation to GF. Are you saying there is no documentation for even how to use the feature?

I'm trying to make a calculation form, but can find no documentation on the numerical format.

There is a screen grab, but I do not understand the format for the equation. Essentially, I'm just trying to make 'field 1 + field 2 =' type calculations. How does one describe that using GF? Surely there is documentation to explain how the new feature actually can be used? If so, please could you provide a link.

We don't have any documentation about math calculations because that's not really a Gravity Forms thing, but a general math one. Gravity Forms processes the data using order of operations. So depending on the complexity of what you are trying to do, how you set things up will be different. Can you give more information on what exactly you need?

Hi,
where can I find the documentation about the mathematical calculation?
I try to write a percentage formula.
Thanks
