I was able to replicate this issue locally. It is a minor bug with the message for that field as the functionality was duplicated from the Donation field. We will correct this in the next Gravity Forms v1.6 beta release which may be the first Release Candidate.

Yes, it is the Product Field set to User Defined Price.

If I don't input anything - the field is blank, the validation error is "This field is required." I think this error message is okay.

However, if I input 0 (zero), the validation error is "Please enter a valid donation." This feels embarrassing since I am not using the field for donations.

Are you using the Product Field set to User Defined Price and it's saying "Please enter a valid donation" if you don't enter an amount? Please verify that it is a Product Field and not a Donation Field.

If it is indeed a Product Field then this is a bug and we can fix it on our end in the next release. I will try and replicate this on my end as well.

Bump. Where in the files can I edit the "Please enter a valid donation" validation error message of the product field (set to user defined price)?

I apologize - I used the Product field set to User Defined Price. Its advanced tab doesn't have a validation message field to edit.

You can edit that message on the Advanced tab for your donation field. Enter it in the field called "validation message".

http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/File:Donation-advanced.png

Please note that the validation field is deprecated in the next version of Gravity Forms (1.6).

I wish to change "Please enter a valid donation" to "Please enter a valid amount".

Where do I edit this?
