The bad news is there isn't really a simple work around. Allowing users to view and edit entries on the front end is fairly complex, especially as it relates to security and preventing people from viewing and editing entries they shouldn't have access to. So there isn't an easy solution. It's a fairly complex customization and requires PHP knowledge as well as how to use WordPress hooks and filters.

The good news is this functionality has been added to our road map and is slated to be part of the Gravity Forms v1.7 release. So while it won't be in the next major release (v1.6) due to feature freeze, it is one of the major features we will be adding in v1.7.

Could you point to a "simple workaround" we *non-coders* should look at ?

Many many thanks for the GREAT plugin!

Editing is fairly complex because you need to know when they should be able to edit, who should be able to edit, etc. We have a good idea of how we are going to handle it, but we haven't started development on this functionality just yet. It's still something we want to release this year. We are working on Gravity Forms v1.6. and currently it isn't slated to be included in this release, but we can look at including it in the 1.7 release. It's something we definitely want to add but it has to be well thought out and implemented properly.

Hello Carl,
As you said last year "Yes, one of the things we are going to look at next year is adding editing capabilities so you can use forms to edit existing data and posts."
see http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/display-posts-and-appendedit-data#post-14192
Can you give us an update about your plan to edit data and posts?
I really need to give my users the ability to edit their posts (generated by gravity) by simply resubmitting forms that include the modifications of the previous data fields.
Best regards
JB
