Wow, i was going to ask about this release as well but i might think it twice now :)

Like D3xta, i think it is better not to guess dates. I told a client that it was better to wait for this functionality than develope it our selfs based in the release dates that where said in a post in this forum.

I´ve been surprised with the treat D3xta has received as his communications seem educated to me and i think he has the wright to make his point.

I´m writing this just because i´ve been surprised as this is not normally the tone i´m used to in support forums. However, i want to say I talk wonders to al my work companions and clients about gravity forms. I use them in all my projects and i think you have one of the best wp plugins around.

thanks, and keep the good work

Hi Carl

Thanks for the reply. That does sound like the best option. As a business owner using your technology if you give me a date then I base my development cycle around that. So, if you miss a date, so do I. And I hate missing development dates Carl, as I am sure you do.

So that's a +1 from me. DON'T give estimated 'guessed' dates. I prefer to hear that you're working on it, and you'll tell me when you 'know'.

And FYI I'm happy with the GF solution in general - so keep up the good work.

Thanks.

Your post is precisely why I do not like answering users when they ask when something will be available. Let me just say right now...

UNTIL IT'S FINISHED AND READY FOR RELEASE ANYTHING I TELL YOU IS AN ESTIMATE. IT'S A GUESS WITH FAR TOO MANY FACTORS INVOLVED TO BE CONSIDERED CONCRETE.

I think i'm going to effectively quit giving any kind of estimates from right now going forward.

If you want to know, user activation functionality is already done. It's in our SVN repository as part of the current development build.

However, it will not be released until other major enhancements currently in development for the User Registration Add-On are completed as they are part of the same release.

We don't rush development. We release it when it's done and we are happy with it. We aren't in a feature race with ANYONE. We release at our own pace. If that isn't good enough for what you need, and you don't have faith that we'll produce a good product then I think you should look at using another solution to accomplish what you are trying to do.

We'll release it when it's done. That's going to be my response from now on when someone asks me a release date because I am absolutely sick of being berated by users such as yourself when I give a time estimate.

Carl I have had to repost this as my original was closed to replies.

You say within 30-45 days in your reply for this functionality and I hate to say this but I have seen many previous answers of yours promising alternative timescales that have passed, the most recent saying it would be the end of April.

I have not got the urls to hand but I am sure you know the ones I mean. As users how can we trust that it will definitively be 30 - 45 days if timings are regularly missed?

I understand the software development process but continually missing release dates doesn't fill me with much faith.

Thanks.
