How exactly are you setting up the From field? You shouldn't be using {email: 2} in the From Field. You should select the email field from the drop down to the right of the From field. You don't use a form field variable here. That could be the issue.

I have installed WP Mail SMTP and in the Gravity Forms notification I have set the From address to be {email: 2} but it is not working.

I have spoken to my hosting company and they say that there is no reason it would not work but it is possible the mail would be blocked by the recipient as they will see that the domain is not the same as the server sending the mail and block it. - I'm happy to take the chance but at the moment can't even get the email to appear that it is being sent from the email used in the form field.

Just to be clear what I want to achieve is if someone registered on the site as leon@domain.com then the email would be sent with the from field population as leon@domain.com

Thanks in advance for your help

You may need to try using the WP Mail SMTP plugin to send mail via SMTP. It sounds like your server is not allowing us to set the Send From address. This is a server configuration issue, not a plugin issue.

You can download the WP Mail SMTP plugin here:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

You will have to contact your web host to get the proper SMTP settings in order to configure that plugin properly. This will then force WordPress to send email via SMTP. You can also set it to send email via the PHP mailer.

Hi

I would like to use the "From email field" as an entry from the gravity form. I've inputted the email field but its still sending from my administrator email.

We are trying to create a campaign email similar to 38 degeres http://38degrees.org.uk/campaigns

So we would send an email to the MP from the subscriber...

any ideas?

Thanks,

http://www.atab.org.uk
