We've confirmed the Firefox issue and will be looking into it.

The Safari behavior you mentioned is the browser default and not a Gravity Forms issue. Safari doesn't offer you a "save as" option for every download. You can specify a preferred folder in the preferences but currently that's all you can do.

I can also confirm that when attempting to Export form data, there is no option displayed to save the file locally. This occurs in Firefox 3.6.3 on iMac.

In Safari, the file exports locally but does not display a window to allow the file to be renamed or to choose where the file is to be downloaded to, it just downloads it to my downloads folder (which is my default location specified in Safari prefs)

The export should prompt the user to save the file locally. It does have a known bug in certain browsers that causes the prompt to not be displayed. That is something that will be fixed in the next release.

Just found out about this functionality. I'd like to make a feature request to prompt the user to download locally. The people who manage our sites don't have access to the server file system, so they have no way to download the export files.

Apparently they don't download like a normal file would, into your downloads folder on my computer. Instead, they download into a folder in the FTP files in wp-content > uploads > gravity forms > and finally a folder named "1". I just found all my attempted export .csv files in there.

I'm just a newbie, so take it for what it's worth, but I've found that if I go through the download procedure twice; it works the second time consistently.

Yes, it should download the CSV file. Try clearing your browser cache completely and then try re-downloading the file. Also try another browser (if trying in Safari, try in Firefox for instance) and let us know if the problem still occurs.

When exporting any form, I can see an ajax request being sent, but the response is
EndExport(8, true, 'export_1270042041.csv');. The exported files are present on the system, but nothing happens, no redirect to the file, nothing. shouldnt it download the exported csv?
