The issue with the default error messages is that they were not designed to be placed over an image background as you have for your form. So, when a field fails validation on your form, because the background image does not resize, it all becomes misaligned.

Take a look at the bottom right footer form here:
http://gravity.chrishajer.com/#gform_widget-4

Submit the form with nothing filled in and you will see the default behavior for the validation error messages. Because you have customized your form, you are going to have to deal with the validation errors in a custom manner as well. You can find out exactly how to target the validation errors in documentation here: http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/page/CSS_Targeting_Samples#Validation_Errors

http://www.autoaccidentlawyerphiladelphia.net/

Just click on submit without filling anything out. The form is supposed to be designed in a way that makes it easy for someone to fill it out and submit it.

So why are the default error messages so poorly designed? And more importantly, what can I do to fix them.

I have used Gravity Forms for a little less then two years now. I subscribed because "it is the best." But I am not convinced. The way I feel right now I am not sure if I will be a three year customer - which, I know, does not matter to anyone but me.

Before I even purchased Gravity forms I asked about tool tips on the front end and I was told it was coming. Fast-forward to today - I just read the same response to someone else's inquiry about tool tips. I guess that's the company line. In the two years I have used gravity forms there has not been one cool feature added to it. Its the same product today as it was when I first subscribed.

If someone could provide me with a way to fix the above referenced site and the way the error messages look that would be great - but I am not optimistic.
