I would need a WordPress admin login for this site in order to look into the issue. I would also need the page links where the other forms reside so I can test them. You can send this information to me via our Contact Us form and reference this forum post.

Hi Carl,

I got your test message in the Contact form. I understand that if the notifications are not turned on that I would not get them. But why is it that when someone fills out the other 2 submission forms I created I am not getting anything in the ENTRIES area? They are all set up exactly the same with the exception of the notifications. The contact form does not have the notifications set up and I will deal with that by installing the SMTP plugin you recommended. But shouldn't I still get entries. You fill one out and it just refreshes the page. Doesn't even alert me if I don't fill out a box that is marked *.

@kymora See my response above. Emails are a responsibility of the web server, Gravity Forms simply uses the built in WordPress mail function. If emails aren't being sent then your web server may require you install a plugin such as WP-SMTP to send email via SMTP. If this is the case then you will have to install and properly configure an SMTP plugin for mail to send correctly.

Forms only send email notifications if you have configured the Admin and User Notifications. If the contact form does not have Admin or User Notifications setup then it should not be sending notifications.

Also note that with the contact form I have not set either notification setting and I am getting those inquiries just fine.

I set up 3 forms. Only my contact form is working correctly. When someone fills out the form and hits the send button, page refreshes as if it sent, no notification displays, like it does on the contact form and the email never gets to me or the user. I have turn the notifications on and filled them out their fullest and turned them off to see there was any difference. These two are more complexed in what i am asking for than the contact form itself but I cannot seem to get either submission form to work. http://www.becomingthemrs.com - Let me know what I can do. Thanks.

If emails aren't being sent then you will have to try a plugin such as the WP-Mail-SMTP plugin. Gravity Forms simply uses the built in WordPress mail function, it doesn't do anything special. If the mail function is unable to send mail then it is a web server related configuration. Your server may require you send email via SMTP.

I'm having a similar issue with form notifications not sending emails to the administrator or the user. I never installed any additional plugins (e.g., WP-Mail-SMTP), like mentioned above. Do I need too? I installed GF on another site and that wasn't necessary. Thoughts?

Yes, you have to setup the Notifications. Email Notifications do not happen automatically, they are optional. You go to Edit Forms, hover over the form you want to edit and select "Notifications". Then setup the Admin and/or User Notifications. If you want the notification to email you all the form fields that were filled out, in the Message Body you would select the "All Form Fields" option from the Form Field Value drop down to insert that "token" or "variables" into the Message Body.

Ok then to understand correctly, gravity forms doesn't automatically email all fields, you have to set them in the message body? I wasn't aware of this. I try it. Thanks.

If you were receiving the email with the subject link then the email was being sent. You need to make sure the Message Body contains content, you have to configure the Message Body itself. It isn't automatic. You would have to enter content or choose from the form field values to insert form field values into the Message Body.

If you installed the WP-Mail-SMTP plugin and didn't receive anything it could be because the Message Body was blank or because you didn't properly configure the SMTP plugin. We don't know what your settings for SMTP should be, you would have to contact your web host for those settings.
