ok thanks for the update Carl, I was hoping a bit sooner but I'm sure you will deliver a better update by not rushing it

I have a few unanswered questions, some of them partially connected to Freshbooks, if you don't mind looking:

http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/dynamically-add-product-options-from-custom-posts-query-post-titles-fields

http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/generate-product-price-from-base-price-options-use-for-freshbooks-and-others

thanks

Yes, we plan on enhancing the FreshBooks Add-On soon. We are finishing up 2 new Add-Ons and then we will be enhancing the MailChimp Add-On. Once those are ready we plan on enhancing the FreshBooks Add-On.

I don't currently have a timetable, unfortunately with the upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years) it probably will not be until the first quarter of next year.

Some of the new features will be the ability to use Pricing Fields for the line items, with the add-on automatically passing all selected Pricing Fields similar to how we integrate with PayPal (and the Authorize.Net Add-On which is in alpha testing).

We will be looking at FreshBooks feature set and API and determining from there what we will be adding and enhancing. It's been a while since we have toyed around with FreshBooks.

@Carl,

so you plan to expand the Freshooks addon soon? cool
I'm also looking for similar features as antosamper and others
specifically, I'd be looking to generate new items or update items from products listed in a gravity form, and populate their descriptions dynamically, use some conditional logic, etc

do you have set any roadmap/possible release date for the overhauled addon?

which features are likely to be in the revised addon?

thank you!

Hi Carl, i was thinking about what you have explained above but i'm still a little confused.

Lets say for example that i wanted to create an invoice from a form submitted by the user. The main problem that i'm having is that i cant seem to get the product information that the user enters into freshbooks. On the example above you explain that it an be done by putting the name and description into the product field but i'm unsure as to where that is or how i can do this. I understand what David is saying but i dont know where this can be mapped so that it gets passed to Freshbooks.

The FreshBooks Add-On does not have a hook for that specific field. As I mentioned the FreshBooks Add-On is going to be overhauled later this year because a lot has changed with the FreshBooks API and Gravity Forms since it was originally released so it's feature set can be expanded.

The example you linked to is for combining the values into a hidden field that you then use as the selected Product. So the Product includes the name and the description to work around the limitation of the Description being a text field. So you would combine the field values and then select that field as the product.

The FreshBooks Add-On will be overhauled later this year. There are a bunch of new features that need to be added, along with support for the new Pricing Fields.

Hi guys, i'm using the freshbooks add-on to create new invoices when a client sumits a forms. I'm wanting to also map a form field to the item description field but im not having much luck. I saw this article that explains how to actually merge to fields together and put them in a hidden field which i could then potentially map to the description field:
http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/item-description-to-freshbooks

But my problem is that i'm not able to actually map the hidden field. when i try to create a new feed, i'm presented with a textbox for the item description as opposed to a dropdown box that allows me to map a field.

Is there a fix for this?
