If they already use the backend for posting, then yep I see where you're coming from. By contrast, if they're not familiar with WordPress, then posting from the front end can - in some cases at least - be easier. The main difference between using it, and the likes of Flutter, is that the "custom write panels" - or different forms for different categories - are accessed on the site's front-end rather than through the arguably less-basic-user-friendly admin backend/dashboard. If you use GF in conjunction with the likes of Justin Tadlock's Members plugin, or Wishlist's membership plugin, you can restrict access to the different forms to different categories of users. </p> <p>All this is just one reason why GF is so damn good. The alternative plugins (More Fields, Flutter, PODS, etc) all have various drawbacks with their implementation approach. I would absolutely love it if you could set up GF to allow the forms to be custom write panels for posts and pages like Flutter. There are a few other plugins that let you do this as well but all are a bit well clunky where as GF feels right all the time.</p> <p>The idea that we could then create the form using your GUI and then select it to be for a category of posts or for a page would be brilliant. In fact i would be that happy i would pay for it as an add on.</p> <p>what do you think? </p>
