gform_post_submission will still work in 1.6, but it won't be the preferred method as we would like to eventually phase that hook out in favor of gform_after_submission which fires in a slightly different way.

So it will still work, but to future proof it you will want to change it to use gform_after_submission.

Quick response much appreciated.

So, as we need a solution which works with 1.5.3, I guess we'll need to go with gform_post_submission for now and make a note to update this later on - there's no way to future-proof it from where we are now, right?

Thanks again!

gform_post_submission is being deprecated. Not for a while, but it's safe to use gform_after_submission with 1.6 and later. gform_post_submission still exists in 1.6 as well.

Small point of detail further to http://www.gravityhelp.com/forums/topic/custom-profile-page-possible ...

The (very useful!) post states that the Gform_after_submission hook should be used in conjunction with beta release 1.6 - does this mean that Gform_post_submission is on the way out and we would need to rework our code in future, if we code up a solution which works with 1.5.3? (I can see that the 'post' version is in place in 1.6, but maybe you have plans to deprecate it...)

Any info much appreciated - many thanks.
