David's right - for an user to be created when adding a listing, you need the User Registration Add-on. The role would be set there.

The Directory add-on uses existing GF Entries for data. If you don't have the data in GF Entry format, then yes, that'd need to be updated.

Hi John,

The Directory add-on is a third party add-on and as such, we can't answer any of these questions.

I can say that you would probably need our User Registration Add-on to have users register on form submission. This add-on is available for Developer license holders.

Also, Gravity Forms can send an e-mail notification on each form submission, so if it is a form submission action, then it should fire off an e-mail notification.

All,

I am planning to use the gravity forms directory software but have a few UI questions:

1. Once a new listing is added, does the listing owner become a user on the site? What role? Do they have dashboard access or do they interact with the gravity forms interface exclusively?

2. My site http://www.nationalbankruptcyforum.com has a directory built using the WP user page as the directory listing page. Can this existing user data convert to the Gravity forms directory or does it need to be re-entered manually?

3. Last, and most importantly, this blog post (http://www.copyblogger.com/gravity-forms-review/) by Brian Clark at Copyblogger suggests that Gravity Forms' front end, guest post content submission functionality would allow the software to be used for a Q & A format.

Questions are:

does Gravity forms have a feature where site users could be notified when a new question was posted?

Could multiple users respond to the same question? How, and where would they submit answers?

Thanks for your time.

John
