Checking the google support page regarding the 'via' extra information that gmail displays, suggests that you need to edit your domains dns to add spf and dkim txt records

http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1311182

You can find out more about setting up SPF in this article by Joost de Valk
http://yoast.com/email-reliability/

You might also be better installing a Wordpress smtp plugin such as http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

When using e-mail notifications, I notice when I receive my e-mails from GRavity Forms they say my "From" email and then "via gator1699.hostgator.com", hostgator being my hosting provider. Is there a way to make this read a different domain such as mail.mydomain.com? Is that something that is set through wordpress, or needs to be set on my hosting platform?
