ok, this page solved it:
http://www.techmesto.com/solving-wordpress-mysql-gone-error/#lightbox/0/

BUT, this is a workaround. after update wordpress it'll happen again. and from start, it's not should be so ugly solution.

for administrators :
can someone point the REAL problem? and why it worked fine untill today?
after some reading in google for "MySQL server has gone away" i understood that maybe there is a code in gravity forms that take too much time after open connection. can this be true?
if so, maybe reopen connection right before sending data to mySQL (if closed..?) ? or shorten code somehow?

same problem here...
any progress??

in my case:
- gravity forms worked fine, untill today.
- the website pages itself are all fine. but in admin area, it's all gone... so i can't edit anything.
- also, the admin area is very very slow.
-> so the problem is only in admin area?

* i installed gravity forms on a subdomain - where i do tests (in a seperate wordpress intallation). the problem started there! right after activation. and now both subdomains have the problem. maybe this caused the problem?

Please contact your hosting provider for this issue:

WordPress database error: [MySQL server has gone away]

That is unrelated to Gravity Forms. Right now, the WordPress site cannot connect to the MySQL host. When you activate Gravity Forms, the number of queries goes up, but it's nothing a MySQL server cannot handle. Please contact your host about this. Maybe there are an excessive number of unclosed connections if you are on shared hosting, or some other host-related problem.

Ps: I've deactivated all plugins (I had only one, anyway). Even with only gravity forms working, I still got this problem. My wordpress version is the last one. I've updated cause in the last one i've had this problem. I thought it could be the wordpress, so i've updated but i didn't matter.

Thank you in advance.

Gravity form was working for a while, but a problem happend. All forms, posts, pages were gone like that! I tryed to deactivated the plugin and it didnt deactivated. So, I access the FTP client and remove it manually. All things got back to normal, all my posts back, pags, etc.

I downloaded the new version 1.7.5 and installed it. Same thing happend, as soon as a activate the plugin, everything goes away.
