If your form is set up properly, you have a Post Field called "image" in the form. Screenshot: http://minus.com/mdc1sTm

That will allow people to upload an image with their post. Sounds like this is working since the images are making it to your media library. That's a good sign.

To get that into your post, you probably need to create a content template. Go to the "post body" field in your form, open that up, and scroll down to the "Create content template" check box. Check that, and you will be presented with a drop down of all the fields you can insert, and a text box in which to insert them. By default, the post content template will look something like this, with just one merge tag:

{Post Body:1}

But if you pull down the drop down, you will see all sorts of fields you can insert into your content template. There will be some post image fields you can use, with variations for size and alignment.

Screenshot for one of my forms.
http://minus.com/mdCWbDg

Give that a shot and mess with the HTML and formatting in the content template. Then make some test submissions and see what your posts look like.

Thank you Chris! Yes, I'm using Gravity Form to allow people to submit posts. I tried adding an image field, and it uploads to the media library, but won't post.

Ok dumb question, but what do you need to know about my setup?

Sabrina, I will help you with this. Are you using a Gravity Form to allow people to submit posts to your site? If so, you can add an image field to your form which will allow the visitor to upload an image, along with their post. Then, you can control where it's displayed in your post.

Can you post more about your setup and we'll first work through getting your images to show? Thanks.

Hi! Sorry if this is already answered--I've looked through the forums and have kind of pieced together parts of the answer to my question but I'm not really a coder so if possible, I need some more specific instructions...anyhoo I was wondering how to post an image to a post? I know you can upload an image directly to the media library, but what steps do I take so it is automatically published with a post?

Also, how would I go about allowing users to embed video and audio in a post? (and publish it automatically?)

Thanks so much in advance!
