Hi Ian, just ran across this. For some reason I didn't get an email about it. Anyway, the email signup/pop-up form is using Aweber. http://spmk.it/K8BDGG

To insert a form into a page or post you use the shortcode or the shortcode wizard.

See this documentation:

http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/embedding-a-form/

If you have problems using the shortcode wizard, if it won't insert the shortcode after clicking "Insert Form" then clear your browser cache, restart your browser and try again. This sometimes doesn't work because of a browser cache not loading new javascript the first time you try using it.

Thanks guys, your help with my ignorance has been much appreciated. I use the StudioPress themes very regularly, but Prose is very different than all the others. I'm pretty sure it's the only one that has the "custom.css". Oh well, as long as it's working, I'm happy (and so is my client!) Thanks again!

One other thing, what is the correct way to insert the form on the page, or are there multiple options?

@seth17 - thanks for the note. As Carl said, it's hard to keep up with what all the themes do or don't do. The important part is that you put the rules in some file that gets included in the page so it can render properly. Usually the style.css file is a good choice but many of the advanced themes have a custom.css file that you use for custom styles.

If you're unsure of the preferred place to put the custom styles, your best bet is to contact your theme provider for guidance.

Let us know if you need anything else.

@seth17 We aren't familiar with the Prose theme other than we know it's a StudioPress theme. Most themes have a custom.css for customizations you would make so it would make sense to put your custom CSS there. I'm not sure if that would fix the minify CSS issue you are having or not. There are so many themes out there and they all do things differently so it would be best to try it and see if it works.

Kevin, in the design settings options for the Prose theme, there is a "minify css" checkbox under the general settings label. This was checked. I unchecked it and now the form seems to be working! Under the checkbox it says the following:

"Note: Check this box for a live site, uncheck for testing.
Note: Use the Editor to add/edit custom CSS."

I was making all the changes in the "style.css", not the "custom.css". Should I add the code to the custom.css and re-check the minify option?

Thanks for your help, this Prose theme is not all it's cracked up to be!

I don't need to see the CSS file, I am asking what file name/file path you're adding this to? All I see being called into the page other than some plugin CSS files is the minified.css file and it doesn't include the new form styles you're trying to add.

My guess is that you're adding the styles to a CSS file that doesn't get called on the page, or else you're adding it in your theme admin and it's not getting output to the CSS.
