I'll put Name field enhancements on the to do list for upcoming 1.6.x releases. So this is something we will try to get implemented before the 1.7 development cycle.

If we change the form from using the firstname/lastname to be a single field, will we lose the data that has already been entered as firstname/lastname?

I am also running a user registration website for a government agency and they need a FIRST, MIDDLE and LAST NAME option. The current NAME option that can be aded from the form editor screen is not ok, because when viewing the data in back-admin, we cannot say where the first name ends and the middle one begins.

Can we have specific 3 fields in the NAME item: {FIRST_NAME}{MIDDLE_NAME}{LAST_NAME}?

can we have an option for just using a single form field for first and last name so that they aren't separated?

Enhancements to the Name field are not planned for the 1.6 release. But it is something we can look at adding in a later release either the 1.7 or a 1.6.x release. It isn't something we have started development on.

Just wondering, how is the middle name/middle initial field coming along? I am working on a doctors office and they would like to have middle initial in some of their forms.

Thanks!
