yeah, this feature is pretty key in the site i am currently working on.... seems like a lot of temp solutions though - i'll give them a try although, i'd love to be able to use gravity forms for everything.

@Carl - I would also love this feature. Any plans to create an API or something similar whereby developers can go in and grab the form meta data (i.e. images and other files uploaded via Gravity Forms) to display in posts, similar to using "get_post_meta()"?

another idea:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/nkmimagefield/

I use this plugin for my own custom templates, not using gravity yet for this. In a nutshell it gives me an input box where I can select a file from the media gallery or computer just like in an article. This way I have the ability to size and orient the picture when it is placed within the post.

I also use this plugin to insert custom images into featured sliders, which is really nice. that way a user can have a custom graphic within the featured slider that does not have to appear within the post itself.

The plugin has not been updated in a very long time and it has bugs. However the solution to the bugs are in the comments on the authors page.

Anyone like this solution?

I started using Justin Tadlock's Get the image plugin

http://justintadlock.com/archives/2008/05/27/get-the-image-wordpress-plugin

to automatically display an image for posts created with Gravity Forms. I use one instance on my archive page for a thumbnail and then a larger version on my single post. It's simple and works without having to do anything other than approve the post.

No problem. We have some ideas on how we are going to implement it. I'm sure it will make it into one of the few releases.

Hmm.. I have done it with the mini TDO form before, and there it just adds the image to the end of the post.. That would do fine in my situation...

But of course, a nice feature would be to be able to add a class to the image, so you could control it from your stylesheet.. And then be able to either insert it in top or bottom of post..
then it would just be to add some css styling..

thx for a quick reply... :)

One thing to mention, if you implement the gallery functionality in your theme... the image will automatically be displayed in the gallery.

Posts need to be approved and published anyway, and during that process the admin can view, approve and insert the uploaded image into the post just before publishing.

We would like to add it in a future release. Automatically adding it the post brings some tricky issues and we haven't come up with a way to implement it so it is intuitive for users.

Some of the issues with this are:

- How is the image added? What markup is used? Every blog is different, we can't just take a one size fits all approach. Do we just make it the first item? Do we align it left/right/center?

- What happens when you have multiple Post Image fields on a form? Where do those images go? Do they just stack?

It's not as simple as just automatically inserting the image... each blog may handle them differently as far as markup, orientation, etc.

It is something we would like to add if we can solve for the usability issues. Our first priority is making the plugin power AND easy to use, we don't want to just cram features in and risk cluttering up the admin. So we will always take that into account when introducing new features and functionality.

If you have any suggestions, we are all ears... we would love to figure out a good way to do it.

Hi..
I'm freshly in love.. with gravity forms - it really rocks.
What made me buy the plugin was the fact, that you now could submit articles and images, and then post that on your blog.
Put I was very sorry to see, that I actually need to go in to the post, and add the image every time before I publish.

Is there somehow to have that done automatically, or perhaps will that feature come in future releases ?

Best regards
Brian
