Gravity is awesome.

thank you,

Hi Carl,
I would like to have the image posted on the body but cant seem to make it work. I have used the post body template where I put the post image field and the body field to give me a post with the image and text. I have tried creating a custom field to upload the image and using the upload file. What I get on the actual post is this.

http://www.fotopalooza.me/wp-content/uploads/gravity_forms/12/2010/09/Desert.jpg
hello joe goodbye

just the url where the image is.

And I dont see any option about the size etc. re: Post Image field it will give you a second option to select the image size, etc.

thank you help is much appreciated.

@jcollier I'll have to look into how this can be done. I think we may have an undocumented feature to allow this in the variable but I can't remember off the top of my head.

Thanks Carl - I figured it out - I was being dense in my last email. I think I just need some carbs or something...

Thank you again for your help!

You also answered my original question, Carl. Thank you!

When I insert Thumbnail-right, how can I alter the inserted code to get a link to the image so it will open with Auto-Thickbox?

If you turn on the Post Template functionality by selecting it, what this means is you then build the Post Body content using form field variables and markup you add. So if you want the actual field value for the Post Body to be included when the Post is created you would have to insert that form field value when you create your Post Template. So from the Insert form field drop down be sure to select the Post Body field so that it is present.

To insert the Post Image field you select the Post Image from the Insert form field drop down. It will then insert a token into the Post Template for the Post Image that will be replaced when the form is submitted with the actual Post Image. When you select the Post Image field it will give you a second option to select the image size, etc.

Thanks Carl - don't mean to be dense, but if you could help me just a tiny bit more, I know I'm close:

"OR you can use the Post Template capabilities of the 1.4 release to configure your Post Body content and output the Post Image. You can find the Post Template area by editing your Post Body field and it is one of the options.

       Found it.

"The Post Template is similar to how you create a Notification, only it is used to create the Post Body. You would use the insert form field drop down..."

I chose the "Insert form field" but the rest I didn't quite understand...

"to then insert the Post Body field (so the actual body field content is used)"

Not sure how to insert the post Body field

"and then also output the Post Image field and select the size and alignment."

Not sure how to output the post image field.

Thank you Carl - I really appreciate it.

How are you trying to display the Post Image in your Post? They aren't added to the Post Body automatically. The Post Image field simply allows the user to upload an image that is added to the Media Library and assigned to the Gallery for that Post. It doesn't automatically get inserted into the actual Post Content, those are 2 different things.

If you want to add it to your Post Body you need to either edit your theme template file and add code to output the gallery OR output the first post image for that post wherever you want it to display.

OR you can use the Post Template capabilities of the 1.4 release to configure your Post Body content and output the Post Image. You can find the Post Template area by editing your Post Body field and it is one of the options. The Post Template is similar to how you create a Notification, only it is used to create the Post Body. You would use the insert form field drop down to then insert the Post Body field (so the actual body field content is used) and then also output the Post Image field and select the size and alignment.

This Post Template is then processed when the post is created and the Post Body is created from it.

Hi All,

When I do a test post with text and images using the form I created, everything works perfectly except that the photo does not show up on the post itself. It shows up in my "Featured" posts thumbnail and also on the thumbnail on the blog preview frames in the Bee Crafty theme I use, but if I go to the blog itself, it doesn't show up there. I am using WordPress 3.0.

Any ideas? You can check it out clicking on the first dog photo on my site: http://www.austindogbragger.com

Thank you!
Mark
