Jessica,

Judging by your domain name WHOIS information it appears you are using Lunar Pages for web hosting. If this is correct here is some information on turning on PHP 5 on your Lunar Pages account:

http://support.lunarpages.com/knowledge_bases/article/326

PHP 5 is the version of PHP required by Gravity Forms.

The reason why you are receiving an error when trying to activate Gravity Forms is because it requires PHP 5 and you are most likely running PHP 4.

Any web hosting company worth using allows you to switch between PHP 4 and PHP 5 simply by clicking a button in your hosting control panel. You will need to check with your web host provider to find out exactly where this change can be made.

777 should be find on the wp-content folder once you get it activated, however the file permissions have nothing to do with the activation parse error. That is strictly a PHP version issue that can be solved by turning on PHP 5.

I am having the exact same problems. Can you break this down a little bit for me? What is PHP5 and how do you change the file permissions in the wp-content folder: Should it be set at 777...? Help.

Thanks,
Jessica

Hello Peggy,

Can you verify that you are running PHP5 on your development server and that the wp-content folder has the necessary file permissions to allow the plugin to create folders?

Thanks,

Carl

When I go to activate gravity forms I get the error

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: parse error in C:\wamp\www\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\gravityforms\gravityforms.php on line 2270

This is on my development machine, plugin works fine on the live site.
