The notification bug that affects 2.8 is corrected and will be available in this next release so running the current version of the plugin is still recommended.

So - if we're running a 2.8x, what version of Gravity Forms should we be running?

I'm a little confused. WooThemes doesn't do hosting. They sell WordPress Themes.

If your site domain name is ihspa.org then doing a reverse lookup tells me that BlueHost hosts your site. We use BlueHost and we have FTP access to all our sites. There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to get FTP access to your site.

If you aren't able to FTP into your site the first thing I would be questioning whoever setup your site. Not having FTP access to your site is a recipe for disaster because sometimes you have to FTP into your WordPress site. You can't administer it 100% from the WordPress admin alone.

The person who set up our site told me that he set it up through Woo Themes and we are not able to FTP into our site.

Is there anything else you can recommend?

@IHSPA You will need to FTP into your WordPress site and delete the Gravity Forms plugin manually.

We are aware of the bug and will look into. It only effects WordPress 2.8x so if you upgrade your site to WordPress 3.0 or even WordPress 2.9.2 it will work correctly.

You should never run old versions of WordPress. Always keep your WordPress install up to date. There are security issues with running old versions of WordPress.

I just installed Gravity Forms and am having the same problem. I followed all the directions on the Installing Gravity Forms page, but I did not realize we hadn't upgraded to WordPress 3.0.

Now any time I click anything I recieve the "Fatal error: Call to undefined function set_site_transient() in /home7/ihspaorg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/common.php on line 528" message. I can't uninstall the plugin, or upgrade to WordPress 3.0.

I logged out of our WordPress account, and now if I try to login all i see is a blank page with the same Fatal Error message.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thanks.

Are you sure you are running WordPress 3.0 because that error only happens in WordPress 2.8x and shouldn't be happening in WordPress 3.0. In fact that line of code only executes in WordPress 2.8 and doesn't execute in WordPress 3.0 so you need to double check the version of WordPress you are running.

Can you send us a WordPress admin login via our Contact Us form so we can take a look?

Carl,

Thanks for your response. I followed the steps. I FTP'd the Gravity Forms folder into the wp-content/plugins folder, deactivated all other plugins and then activated the Gravity Forms plugin. When I click the activate button I get a blank page with this error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function set_site_transient() in /home/content/j/i/m/jimmysfamous/html/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/common.php on line 528

After I receive this error message, I can't use any admin tools or delete the Gravity Forms plugin. To get back to where I starte, I have to rename the Gravity Forms plugin folder and then I can delete the Gravity Forms plugin from the WordPress plugin admin.

Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong?

Hello Greg, in the future please utilize the forums exclusively for support. I have already responded via your Contact Us form request. It prevents us from doing things twice if we keep things centralized to the support forum.

Here is what I sent via email:

We have no reported issues with WordPress 3.0. Depending on how you uploaded the plugin files, this can cause issues. The best thing to do is to:

- FTP the plugins files to your site and place the gravityforms folder in wp-content/plugins
- Deactivate ALL other plugins
- Activate Gravity Forms

Then activate each of your other plugins. Another plugin could be causing the fatal error that occurs when you activate Gravity Forms. It is very common for other plugins, that are poorly developed, to cause issues with other plugins.

I purchased the plug-in in May and receive a fatal error message when I try to install the plug-in. I'm on WordPress 3.0 and my server is on GoDaddy shared Linux PHP5+. After I receive the fatal error on install, I also can't get back into my WordPress admin unless I completely remove the Gravity Forms plug-in. The plug-in looks great and I want to use it but I need help solving this problem.
