We will do some testing with the AJAX in the versions of IE you mentioned. For now you will need to turn off AJAX if IE support is critical for the project and we will look into fixing any compatibility (with at least 7 and 8) in an update.

Kevin / Carl,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, just wanted to make sure this wasn't missed, and I'm stressed trying to make things work for IE6 (what a PITA)! But note, the error occured for all versions of IE.

However, after having done all the less obvious things like plugins, themes, etc., I simply removed "ajax=true" and the error went away. Not sure why this fixed it, but it did. Sigh.

Thanks again. Let me know if you want any more info on this or me to do anything if you want to test this issue further. But for me it is resolved so hurray for that!

Trevor

We are looking into it, until we are able to reproduce it and determine what is going on we can't fix it. Nobody else is reporting IE related errors so we are trying to reproduce it first.

One thing you need to do is test it with the default TwentyTen theme activated and *ALL* other plugins deactivated to make sure it isn't some sort of plugin or theme related conflict that is causing the error.

Also be aware we do not officially support IE6. As forms (when not using AJAX) do not depend on Javascript to submit, so it wouldn't prevent form data from being submitted even if there was a Javascript error.

You posted less than 24 hours ago and it takes a while to get to other requests and then to investigate your error. No comment so far doesn't mean anything was ignored, we just haven't had time to investigate it fully yet.

As soon as we have some insight to share, we surely will.

So...just wondering why pretty much every other support request has at least a comment and this one has been ignored. I worked on this last night and now early this morning but still no luck. Just wondering if I could at least get some insight into why Gravity Forms seems to be causing a javascript error in all versions of IE for my site.

I'm getting an "object expected" error. My least favourite js error.

A strange scripting error, that is beyond my expertise. In IE 7&8 when I submit this form with missing data (I say missing instead of errors to not confuse between form errors and script errors), when the form reloads highlighting the fields missing data I notice briefly there is a script error warning in the bottom left corner of IE (the usual spot). It disappears though within a few seconds, which is something I've never seen before.

But I have to test for IE6 for this project so I use IETester and in IE6 the same errors appear but this time, if it helps, it gives me line number for the errors: Line 11 & Line 169. If I say to keep running scripts and then try to re-submit the form still with missing data, then it gives me Line 11 and a crazy 6 or 7 digit line number so I'm especially concerned we have something bad going on here.

http://pw.creativelogic.biz/contact-us/

Thoughts?
Thank you!
