It's a browser cache issue which is why it works in Chrome and not FireFox. You need to completely clear your browser cache if it is not working. What is happening is the Javascript that is necessary for this functionality isn't being loaded because of your browser is pulling from cache. So it can't insert the shortcode. Clearing cache should resolve this.

Hi All,

I had the same issue. Worked in Chrome but not Firefox.
I found that if I disabled firebug it solved the problem.

Cheers,

@stevewinder1 Your issue is not the same as the original posters. It's a browser cache issue. You need to completely clear your browser cache and restart. It's not loading the necessary Javascript to insert the form shortcode.

@profitgenetics As @illinoisharley said above, Gravity Forms is competible with the Genesis framework so you have something else going on here. It could be another plugin causing this issue or you may not have insert the shortcode properly.

1) First try editing the page in HTML mode (not the Visual editor) and insert the shortcode that way and then save your page. If that doesn't work then check for plugin conflicts by following step 2.

2) Deactivate ALL other plugins. Only activate Gravity Forms. Test to see if the page outputs the form. If it does, then activate each of your other plugins one by one. Test the page after each one until you encounter the plugin that causes the form to not get parsed.

If neither 1 or 2 works, send us a WordPress admin login for this site via our Contact Us form and reference this forum post and we will take a look.

@stevewinder1 you're having a different problem, since there is no shortcode displayed on your page. Can you explain what browser you are using, and what version of Gravity Forms you have installed? In the past, I have had problems with the browser caching JavaScript, especially after an upgrade, which can cause this problem. My advice there is to try a different browser and see if it works there, or completely clear the cache in your existing browser to see if the form will insert using the icon.

You can also insert the form manually by just adding the shortcode (not the icon.) The shortcode for inserting your form might look like this:

[gravityform id=1]

at a minimum. You could then look at the page and see if the shortcode is being processed and the form is being displayed.

@profitgenetics - it is really simple, and Gravity Forms works great with Genesis (I tested it with Genesis 1.1.3 and the new 1.5 release) and all the themes from StudioPress (including Prose). But something in your installation is interfering with WordPress processing shortcodes. In your page, you can see the text of the shortcode that was inserted by clicking the "insert form" icon, instead of the output of WordPress processing that form.

My advice, as a user who has had to troubleshoot this before, would be to disable all plugins other than Gravity Forms. If the form then displays in this page, then you have a plugin that is messing with WordPress and how it processes shortcodes. Activate plugins one by one, and test your page after activating each plugin. When you find the form no longer displays and you see just the shortcode, then you've found the problem.

If you're not able to do this on the live site, please list your installed and active plugins here and someone should be able to make an educated guess as to which one is missing with the shortcodes.
