After you purchase Gravity Forms, we can help you come up with a solution. It depends on exactly how you want to store and present these magic trick posts.

Gravity Forms can do this. You don't need any customization. If your user is logged in and is a contributor, they can create a post which you will have to moderate. In addition, you could always set the post status to "pending" or "draft" so it is not shown on the site until it's approved. You can give these magic tricks a special category, then exclude that category from your blog page.

Then, you can use a plugin to show a list of all 'magic trick' posts on a page, or actually include the content of every magic trick post in the actual page. This functionality will come from another WordPress plugin, not Gravity Forms. Gravity forms will work to accept the submission and create the post, in the correct category and with the correct status (so that it is not visible) but the rest is WordPress functionality you will have to add, probably by installing a plugin or two.

I'm looking to create a form for magic trick submissions for users who have "contributor" access in wordpress. Once a magic trick is submitted it should go to a section that is NOT a post/blog submission, but in another section that can be reviewed and approved by an administrator. Once approved, the magic trick will show up on the correct page.

Can gravity forms do this? What kind of customization will I need to do? Thanks.
