We can't simply change to using the API as we don't want to disrupt existing users who are using the plugin as is. So we will look into how to best handle this. It would have helped if MailChimp would standardize their API access to use one method, with the key being the best method. I don't know how their API works without using that. Sounds like an issue MailChimp needs to resolve as most things work with their API this way so i'm not sure why they would do this with Google. It is verified via a log, but without a u and p. you can't verify anything. I will look into it, however with something like this there is no way I can guarantee we can make the Add-On compatible because Google Apps is it's own animal and at that point MailChimp is an add-on for Google Apps and doesn't function the way it is on it's own. </p>
