The issue is related to WordPress Multi-Site, user permissions and how the Network Admin Dashboard behaves differently from the individual site dashboards.

Don't go to the Register link via the Network Admin. Go to the Settings page of Gravity Forms via the Dashboard of one of the sites in your multi-site network and NOT from the Network Admin or the Network Plugin Activation page itself.

You enter your license key on the Settings page and you can access that from any site on the multi-site install.

Similar to the last three posters, after doing a network activate, I click the Register link to add my license key and it tells me I don't have sufficient permissions.

I'm also having this problem. I did undo the network activate and then registered the plugin in the individual website, however now I cannot upgrade the plugin!

Still having the same issues, no responses yet. Any thoughts on why I can't network activate?

I am having the same issue as Webspinster. I have a business license, so I am wondering if this is the problem. Any thoughts? At this time, I can't use the plug-in for my multisite.

Note: I hard coded the registration key into both the plugin itself and the wp-config.php file. No luck yet.

Hi, Carl--

Hmm, while logged in as the superadmin of 2 different WP multisite installations (3.1 and 3.3), I am only able to register and install GF 1.6.2.1.1 on a site-by-site basis. I can't register it from the network admin plug-ins page (it gives me the "You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page" error page); and if I attempt to network install the plug-in, it won't show up under installed plug-ins for the individual sites.

The only way I'm able to get it to work on my sites in MS at all is to network deactivate the plugin, then activate GF under the individual sites, then register it on the individual sites.

Not ideal.

Please let me know if there is some workaround or documentation I've missed to bypass the buggy error issue to get network activation working?

Many thanks,
Devra

It will work fine becuse it should replicate everything.. plugin settings post, pages, custom post types ect... The way they register should not matter... I blog templat I am using now , you can create multiple templates and then select the template you want to when creating the new site from the drop down..

I build fanpages with wordpress so I have templates to speed things up... A default GF form... Pages Usually 5 with no content plugin settings ect.... If I do one for realestate then that template will have the real estate plugins appear enabled with all my yelp, zillow api's ect..

i then brand the backend to get rid of everything wordpress with another plugin made for branding multisite.... Check out the wp-amin login screen to give you an idea.. comes complete with role manager ect... for your differnet levels of membership for hiding menu items :)
https://fanpage4me.com/clients/wp-admin

Cheers

Really appreciated, cheers Scott. I haven't used any of the plugins from the guys at WPMU Dev so great to get a first hand recommendation. Having a replication plugin work nicely with Gravity Forms is essential to my current project. You wouldn't by any chance have any experience using the New Blogs Template plugin with Gravity Forms own User Registration Add On?

What I hope to finally achieve is a custom registration process whereby a user signs up to my network, makes a Paypal payment and afterwhich a new site is created complete with boilerplate posts/content (via the replication plugin) and standard Gravity Forms functionality.

Many thanks again for your time and recommendations/suggestions.

Cheers

@designbuild Here is a screen shot of New Blog Teplates Advanced Area... With Help from The guys here I was able to figure this out ... before having the advanced featured unchecked I could not save forms.. It would say contact so and so cannot create..

I have not had any problems since doing so, so I can tell you first hand this one works with GF

I just had a quick flick through the WP Multisite Replicator forums for any known issues with Gravity Forms and the best I could come up with was the thread http://wpebooks.com/support/general/forum/topic/wp-multisite-replicator/.

Ron's response leaves me a little cautious. Is a unique GF registration/activation setting saved to each sites options table? If so, I'm guessing this would get copied across exactly given the wording of Ron's thread response.

I currently have my GF registration key for my multisite defined in wp-config.php via define("GF_LICENSE_KEY", "XXXXXXX");

Sorry to speculate, I just don't want to go network activating Gravity Forms and strike a bunch of problems due to me using a replication plugin for new site creation.

Any initial thoughts much appreciated before I hit Ron up with similar questions.

Thanks
