Yes. It will work on MySQL 4, however it's not officially our minimum requirement as we can't guarantee we won't implement MySQL 5 specific features in the future. Currently it does work on MySQL 4 but that could change in the future.

Your WordPress site would have to be installed on the MySQL 5 database in order to use MySQL 5.

You would have to discuss with your web host or web developer. In order to use that MySQL 5 database you would have to move your existing WordPress database to it AND change your database connection string in WordPress to use the new database.

Gravity Forms system requirements state MySQL 5 is required. However, it will work on MySQL 5. That being said, it's not out of the question that we may implement a feature that only works in MySQL 5 in the future. This is why we list MySQL 5 as the minimum requirement.

Dear,

I do not fully understand how MySQL 5 works. I see in the installationstatus of the plugin that across the status a green check mark that is ok, except for MySQL. It says that I have version 4.1.21 and that MySQL version 5 or later is required. Now I have have contact the hosting provider and they have created a MySQL 5 for me. But how can I get it working and that the "error" goes away.
Or can Gravity Forms also work normally with version 4.1.21?

Thank you for your help.
Greetings,
