Yes, developing on the test/dev site and using the license on a live site is perfectly okay.

If you are moving an entire site from one server to another the BackupBuddy plugin is great for situations like this. It's also great, obviously, for managing backups of your site after it's on the live server.

Hi Carl -

Thanks for the reply. The test site will need to be accessed by me and a rep. from the client, but that's it. Once everything's approved, it will just be moved to their live server. Is that okay?

Thanks for mentioning the very cool option of GF's import/export feature. I didn't really realize that was an option. The whole site may indeed need to be moved to an entirely different server, and being a bit ignorant of WordPress makes me happy to hear that I can use something like BackupBuddy. Thanks for the tip!

Your soon-to-be-customer,

You can use the Single Site License on a test/development site and on the live site. That is permitted as long as the test/development site isn't being used as a production site with active users/visitors.

As far as development on a test/dev site and then moving it to a live site? That is up to you. If you are moving the entire site you can use a plugin like BackupBuddy (http://www.pluginbuddy.com) to move the entire site.

If you are creating a new form on the dev site and then moving it to the live site you can use the Gravity Forms import/export functionality to export the form and then import it into the live site.

Okay, so I have a client that we're developing a site for. We've got it sandboxed on one of our own servers. If I buy the single license of Gravity Forms to test, I think that I'll need to buy at least the 5 site license to deploy another copy of Gravity Forms when the client wants us to take their site live. Is that correct?

Now the harder part: Let's say I create all these nifty GF's on our test server for the client, and they like it. How to I save all the customization work and move it to their live server?

Thanks in advance,
