Nancy,
Mostly I just used the documentation at http://www.gravityhelp.com/documentation/ I posted a priority support ticket because I had some unique needs and I've been told they're being addressed in the next beta release. I'm using the form to popular posts that are directory listings and I need visitors to be able to choose categories from a drop down. In beta 1.5 there's no default which means that if I have the same drop down option 3 times and they only have one category the default on the remaining ones will also be submitted. Not good.

Basically all I did was use the post field options I wanted. When I got to Body I had the option to pick and choose from all existing fields in the form and post categories, what I want to have appear in the post.

The other thing I'm waiting for in the next beta is the ability to have a hidden field, so all those who complete the form will automatically be given that category w/o having to choose it.

Hope that helps.
Sheila

Hi Sheila and Richard,
I am trying to do something similar on my site: http://www.thegrowingvine.com so I would love to know where you have gotten help elsewhere.

I created a GF form with Post fields but all the fields don't show up in the post. Just standard Title and Post body.

What is the 'new post content template function'?
Thanks so much for any tips.
Nancy

Thanks Richard. I just bought the developer license. I've already got a simple contact form setup and a good start on my more complex membership form. I've run into some questions about using the Post Fields but I've asked for help elsewhere so won't re-post here. Looking to be a very powerful too. Thanks for your response.

Hi there - I'm not part of the GF team, but what you're after can definitely be done with Gravity Forms by using the Post Fields in your form set up. If you want more flexibility than that, you can use custom fields and pull them into the loop or you can use the new post content template function with virtually any available field type that you've used in your form. When the next release of GF and the Paypal Add-On become available (I understand you need the Developer's Licence to get the Add-On), you'll be able (I understand) to automate the payment processing for directory entries via Paypal.

As a frequent user of GF, I can say without doubt that it's one of the best, if not the best, WP plugin available. Worth every cent.

Richard

I'm re-creating a large directory site from html to WP. I explored directory plug-ins but none let me have the control I wanted on the listings. So I'm setting it all up with posts using categories & tags to organize everything. I'm just copy/pasting each existing entry to a post and assigning categories and tags.

I was just setting up the Join form using a free plug-in and realized that ideally the content of the form would automatically be turned into a post (upon approval when paid). When searching I discovered GF. I tried to find info in FAQ & documentation but apparently I must buy first.

I did find the demo. It does look like there's a way to have form content be entered as a post so I suspect I can make this work.

Before I spend my money... what is your refund policy if it doesn't meet my needs? Also, I assume if I buy a single license and want to upgrade for more sites there's an upgrade path that doesn't penalize me for not buying more to start with?

Thanks,
Sheila

PS: I've been playing around in the demo. I'm trying to add post fields and customize them. When I click on edit they just window-shade down then back up. I assume that's some glitch in the demo. And I'm wondering if I'll need to populate the category choices or if it automatically makes the site's categories available? I have a lot of them so adding them individually will be a PITA.
