Yes after changing the entry, I replace an auto-generated username with an ID number (that only we know, it matches with our manual database).

Long story, but it is necessary, basically they're really old records for a niche community that is being revived.

Once changed, I then activate their account.

---

Great to hear you're considering it. Even if only for the user registration entries and even then it would only be required for particular fields (eg; username).

After talking with the development team, this makes sense. We'll talk more about it and might consider including it eventually.

When you change the username, do you then activate the user so they have the new username? How does changing the username in the entry help you? I'm just trying to follow along. Thank you.

Also, what version of the User Registration add-on are you using?

I think as far as user registrations go, this is pretty important. Particularly the username issue I mentioned.

The validation which applies to the form does not apply to editing any entry in the admin (regular form entries or user registration form entries.)

I'll bring this to the attention of the development team though.

I am using this plugin in a different way than most others.

Basically users register on the website, but they don't receive a link to activate their account. Instead I manually activate their accounts. The reason for this is because's it's a private community and there's a bit of manual data matching involved to ensure they're elligible.

To the point: if someone registers via the User Registration form and I then edit their entry - there doesn't seem to be any data validation on the admin side.

- For example I had a field which is supposed to be numbers-only; it let me put in letters.

- For example in my username field, it let me put in a username that already exists.

It's a small issue, I know, but it could be a big problem for people (like me) wanting to take advantage of some of the nifty features.

Cheers
